Disclosed herein are a method of inhibiting hair growth, which comprises administering an inhibitor of elastase-like enzymes or a neutral endopeptidase inhibitor, and use of an inhibitor of elastase-like enzymes or a neutral endopeptidase inhibitor for the preparation of a hair-growth inhibitor.

The present invention provides a skin external preparation comprising a compound of the formula (1), (2), (3) or (4).

Skin external preparation

The present invention provides a hair cosmetic composition containing an antibody (a) to hair or a hair extract obtained from egg yolk of poultry immunized with the hair or hair extract, and a polymer emulsion (b). The hair cosmetic composition of the invention can provide excellent properties including softness, moistened feel, and smoothness. In addition, since it is adsorbed only onto a specified part of the hair, stickiness or greasiness of the hair can be prevented. The composition also prevents occurrence of split hairs, and even repair the split hairs. These effects are not lost by repeated ordinary shampooings.

Hair cosmetic composition

The present invention provides a skin external preparation comprising a compound of the formula (1), (2), (3) or (4). ##STR1## wherein X represents COOH, etc., Z represents CONH.sub.2, etc. and R.sup.1 and R.sup.7 individually represent a hydrogen atom, etc. The above-described compound has excellent effects, for example, for preventing or alleviating skin aging or inhibiting hair growth.

The amide derivative of the present invention is one represented by the following general formula (I) and the dermatologic preparation of the present invention is one containing said amide derivative. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a straight-chain or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group carrying 10 to 40 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 represents a straight-chain or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group carrying 3 to 39 carbon atoms; R.sup.3 represents a group containing at least one group represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 each represents a hydrogen atom or a straight-chain or branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 may form a hydrocarbon group together; and X represents ##STR3##

A composition for external skin care comprising an amine derivative represented by the following formula (1), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a linear, branched, or cyclic saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group having 4-40 carbon atoms, and R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are individually a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1-10 carbon atoms, which may be substituted or unsubstituted by 1 or more hydroxy groups; or an acid addition salt thereof, in an amount from 0.0001 to less than 0.1% by weight; and a method of curing wrinkles and keratinization of the skin characterized by applying said amine derivative or its salt to the skin.

Composition for external skin care

The invention relates to UV absorbers and cosmetic compositions containing a naphthalenemethylenemalonic diester represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein NAP represents a naphthalene group which may optionally have a substituent, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent a hydrocarbon group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or an alkoxyalkylenoxyalkyl group.
