A touch panel including upper and lower electrode substrates including upper and lower conductive layers, respectively; first and second electrodes respectively provided at both ends of the upper conductive layer in a first direction for causing an electric potential distribution in the first direction; third and fourth electrodes respectively provided at both ends of the lower conductive layer in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction for causing an electric potential distribution in the second direction; a flexible substrate provided to be connected to the lower electrode substrate or the upper electrode substrate; a first resistor portion electrically connected to either of the first or second electrode and formed at the upper electrode substrate or the flexible substrate; and a second resistor portion connected to either of the third or fourth electrode and formed at the lower electrode substrate or the flexible substrate.

A touch panel including upper and lower electrode substrates including upper and lower conductive layers, respectively; first and second electrodes respectively provided at bath ends of the upper conductive layer in a first direction for causing an electric potential distribution in the first direction; third and fourth electrodes respectively provided at both ends of the lower conductive layer in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction for causing an electric potential distribution in the second direction; a flexible substrate provided to be connected to the lower electrode substrate or the upper electrode substrate; a first resistor portion electrically connected to either of the first or second electrode and formed at the upper electrode substrate or the flexible substrate; and a second resistor portion connected to either of the third or fourth electrode and formed at the lower electrode substrate or the flexible substrate.

Disclosed is a touch panel including a first electrode substrate including a first conductive layer; and a second electrode substrate including a second conductive layer and being stacked with the first electrode substrate such that the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer face each other. The first conductive layer is composed of a first line of conductive areas and a second line of conductive areas adjacent to the first line where each of the first and the second lines includes an odd number greater than or equal to three of the conductive areas aligned in a second direction, and the conductive areas positioned in the middle of the first line and the second line are respectively connected with extracting areas extending toward different edges in the second direction.

A touch panel that includes a polarizing plate, and used as an input device of a display unit of a personal computer, a word processor, an electronic notebook and the like is structured by one or more films that have a low heat contraction coefficient and a low water absorption coefficient, which remarkably suppress occurrence of concave deformations of the polarizing plate after exposure to a high temperature and soaking in water, avoiding short circuits.

Touch panel and an input device equipped therewith

Laser etching is used to form channels which divides a conductive film adhered on a board of a touch panel into a plurality of regions of desired form. A conductive film damage preventing element is attached on the board of the moving-side panel of a pair of panels or the double-faced tape to join them at their perimeters, to prevent damage by the edge of the double-faced tape. A re-usable adhesive layer having 90-degree peel off power of 5 g to 500 g/25 mm is used to adhere optical material on a surface of the panel.
