The present invention provides a base stationfor receiving vehicle control information and/or traffic state information from a vehicle control unit, preferably connected to the base station. The base station comprises a base band unit, and at least one interface, wherein the base band unitis connected to the at least one interface, and wherein the at least one interfaceis configured to communicate with at least one application processing unitfor processing the vehicle control information and/or the traffic state information in the at least one application processing unit, and to receive a result of the processing from the at least one application processing unit.
