The disclosed apparatus may include an antenna radiating structure that includes an active transparent mesh portion as well as a non-transparent antenna radiator portion. By combining transparent metal mesh and non-transparent metallic film into the antenna radiating structure, the disclosed apparatus results in improved radiation efficiency. Moreover, when overlaid on a transparent lens (such as with a pair of augmented reality glasses), the antenna radiating structure leaves the optical transparency of the lens largely unaffected due to the placement of the non-transparent metallic film. Various other implementations are also disclosed.

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include accessing various portions of contextual information based on at least one touch input from a touch-based sensor on a mobile electronic device. The method may next include determining, based on the contextual information, which of different operational antenna parameters associated with at least one antenna of the mobile electronic device are to be changed. The method may then include changing the specified operational parameters associated with the antenna on the mobile electronic device according to the determination. The system may also include a camera housing, affixed to the support structure, that houses optical components for a camera. The disclosed system may include an enclosure that is configured to house internal electrical components disposed on a printed circuit board (PCB). The system may also include a first antenna feed that is electrically connected to the PCB, to the enclosure, and to a radiating coupling arm configured for wireless communication in a first wireless communication band. The system may further include a second antenna feed that is electrically connected to the PCB and to an antenna configured for wireless communication in a second, different wireless communication band. The system may also include a first grounding leg that forms an electrical ground between the PCB and the enclosure, and a second, switchable grounding leg positioned away from the first grounding leg. This switchable grounding leg may provide a controllable electrical ground between the PCB and the enclosure. Various other methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

The disclosed mobile electronic device may include a display, an enclosure supporting the display and comprising a conductive portion including at least one inward protrusion, and a ground plane positioned within the enclosure and comprising at least one channel, wherein the at least one inward protrusion extends within the at least one channel of the ground plane and a gap defined between the conductive portion of the enclosure and the ground plane forms a slot antenna that is configured to radiate electromagnetic signals through a portion of the display. Multi-band antenna architectures for a wearable device and related devices and methods

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for a hinge feed antenna of eyewear, are disclosed. One apparatus includes a front frame, a temple arm, and a hinge rotatably connecting the front frame and the temple arm. For an embodiment, the temple arm includes a circuit assembly including at least a radio. For an embodiment, the front frame includes one or more antennas traces, wherein the hinge conductively connects the circuit assembly to the one or more antenna traces. The apparatus further includes an antenna tuner located between the circuit assembly and the hinge, wherein a rotation position of the temple arm is sensed, wherein the rotation position is dependent on an orientation of the front frame relative to the temple arm; and wherein the antenna tuner includes an impedance tuner for adaptively adjusting an input impedance of the impedance tuner based on the sensed rotation position of temple arm.

The disclosed system may include a housing that includes a non-conducting substrate and a conductive enclosure that at least partially surrounds the non-conducting substrate. The system may also include an antenna disposed on the non-conducting substrate of the housing. Still further, the system may include a direct electrical connection between the antenna and a first portion of the conductive enclosure. Moreover, the system may include an antenna feed electrically connected to a separate conductive portion on the non-conducting substrate. The separate portion of the non-conducting substrate may be electrically connected to a second portion of the conductive enclosure. The disclosed wearable electronic device may include an enclosure, an antenna positioned within the enclosure and configured to radiate electromagnetic signals, a non-conductive substrate positioned within the enclosure, a first surface of the non-conductive substrate being in a position to face a user of the wearable electronic device and a second, opposite surface of the non-conductive substrate facing the antenna, and a patterned conductive material disposed on the second, opposite surface of the non-conductive substrate, wherein the patterned conductive material has a shape and configuration to reduce electromagnetic signals radiated in a direction towards the user of the wearable electronic device. Apparatuses, methods, and systems for a modular eyewear antenna assembly, are disclosed. One modular eyewear antenna assembly includes an eyewear housing including a front frame and a pair of eyewear temple arms, wherein a physical size and shape of each of the temple arms is selectable from a plurality eyewear assembly SKU sizes and shapes, a printed circuit board (PCB) including a controller and a radio, wherein the PCB extends along at least one of the temple arms, wherein the PCB has a fixed size that is adapted for placement within one of the temple arms, and a modular antenna structure including a planar antenna, wherein the modular antenna structure interfaces with the PCB for providing a wireless propagation path for the radio, wherein the modular antenna structure has a fixed size that is adapted for placement along with the PCB within one of the temple arms.

One apparatus includes a front frame, a temple arm, and a hinge rotatably connecting the front frame and the temple arm. The radio is operative to wirelessly communicate with an external wireless device.
