Polymer combinations may be incorporated in a hydroalcoholic solution to improve fragrance longevity. The polymer combination may include at least one plant-based hydrophobic polymer, a hydrophilic polymer, a third cosmetically acceptable sensory polymer, and a fragrance oil in hydroalcoholic solution having prolonged fragrance intensity. The tri-polymer combination may synergistically create a film mesh on the surface of the skin that locks in the fragrance ingredients. The combination may provide an unexpected film forming property with the fragrance oil in hydroalcoholic solution, thereby providing a thin film matrix and adhesive power for the fragrance ingredients to attach/remain on the skin.

Polymer combinations to improve fragrance longevity

A photoprotective composition can be utilized for a variety of cosmetic compositions. A photoprotective composition comprises one or more photoactive agents, and a synergistic combination of polymers. The photoprotective composition can provide a substantially a complete film. The photoprotective composition may comprise an alkyl dimethicone, a polymer with ester linkages, and a phenyl silicone or stearate. The photoprotective composition can further comprise abietic acid and ester derivatives. The photoprotective composition can be a liquid such that it is easily and consistently dispensed from a bottle, pump or spray.

Synergistic photoprotective compositions

A robust sunscreen composition is disclosed herein comprising a water soluble polymer and a water insoluble film former providing a synergistic effect in SPF retention and critical wavelength after immersion in water, salt water, and chlorinated water. The water soluble polymer comprises poloxamer 338 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, poloxamer 407 (and) PPG-12/SMDI copolymer, or a combination thereof.
