In a first aspect, a polyimide film includes a dianhydride and a diamine. The dianhydride, the diamine or both the dianhydride and the diamine include an alicyclic monomer, an aliphatic monomer or both an alicyclic monomer and an aliphatic monomer. The polyimide film has a b* of 1.25 or less and a yellowness index of 2.25 or less for a film thickness of 50 &#x3bc;m. The polyimide film is formed by: (a) polymerizing the dianhydride and the diamine in the presence of a first solvent to obtain a polyamic acid solution; (b) imidizing the polyamic acid solution to form a substantially imidized solution; (c) casting the substantially imidized solution to form a film; and (d) drying the film.

Polyimide films and electronic devices

A cover window for a display includes a multilayer polymer film. The multilayer polymer film includes a first transparent, colorless polymer layer having a first elastic modulus and a second transparent, colorless polymer layer having a second elastic modulus. Each of the first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers include a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide. The polymers of both the first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are cross-linked. The first elastic modulus is different from the second elastic modulus. The first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are bonded by consolidation and cross-linking. The first transparent, colorless layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display.

Cover windows for displays

In a first aspect, a multilayer polymer film includes a first transparent, colorless polymer layer comprising a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide and a second transparent, colorless polymer layer comprising a polyimide, a polyamide imide, or a block copolymer of a polyimide. An elastic modulus of the first transparent, colorless polymer layer is different than an elastic modulus of the second transparent, colorless polymer layer. The first and second transparent, colorless polymer layers are bonded by consolidation. In a second aspect, a cover window for a display includes the multilayer polymer film of the first aspect. The first transparent, colorless layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display.

Multilayer polymer film

In a first aspect, a low haze polymer film includes a polymer and a refractive index-matching nanoparticle aggregate. The polymer includes a polyimide, a polyamide imide or a polyester imide, and the refractive index-matching nanoparticle aggregate includes a first nanoparticle having a refractive index that is less than the refractive index of the polymer and a second nanoparticle having a refractive index that is greater than the refractive index of the polymer. A difference in the refractive indices of the polymer and the refractive index-matching nanoparticle aggregate is less than 0.1, and the low haze polymer film has a thickness in a range of from 1 to 150 &#x3bc;m and a haze of less than 4%. In a second aspect, an electronic device includes the low haze polymer film of the first aspect.

Low haze polymer films and electronic devices

In a first aspect, a multilayer polymer film includes a first polymer layer having a first elastic modulus and a second polymer layer having a second elastic modulus. The first polymer layer includes a polyimide, a polyamide imide, a block copolymer of a polyimide or a polyamide imide or a mixture thereof. The second polymer layer includes a polyimide, a polyamide imide, a block copolymer of a polyimide or a polyamide imide or a mixture thereof. The first elastic modulus is different from the second elastic modulus. The first and second polymer layers are bonded by consolidation. In a second aspect, a cover window for a display includes a hard coat layer and the multilayer polymer film of the first aspect. The first polymer layer of the multilayer polymer film is the layer farthest from the display and is adhered to the hard coat layer.

In a first aspect, a low haze polyimide film includes, a dianhydride, a diamine, and a color-tuning compound. The low haze polyimide film has a thickness in a range of from 1 to 150 um, an a* closer to zero with a |&#x394;a*| greater than 0.2 and a b* that is at most 0.2 further away from zero, or a b* closer to zero with a |&#x394;b*| greater than 0.2 and an a* that is at most 0.2 further away from zero, when compared to a low haze polyimide film of the same dianhydride and diamine composition, but without the color-tuning compound, and a haze of less than 4%. In a second aspect, an electronic device includes the low haze polyimide film of the first aspect.

Low haze polyimide film

There is provided a compound having Formula I In Formula I: Arand Arare the same or different and are aryl, heteroaryl, or deuterated analogs thereof; Land Lare the same or different and are H, D, halogen, aryl, arylamino, crosslinkable groups, deuterated aryl, deuterated arylamino, or deuterated crosslinkable groups; R-Rare the same or different at each occurrence and are D, F, CN, hydrocarbon aryl, heteroaryl, aryloxy, fluoroaryl, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, alkoxy, fluoroalkoxy, amino, silyl, siloxane, siloxy, germyl, deuterated hydrocarbon aryl, deuterated heteroaryl, deuterated aryloxy, deuterated fluoroaryl, deuterated alkyl, deuterated fluoroalkyl, deuterated alkoxy, deuterated fluoroalkoxy, deuterated amino, deuterated silyl, deuterated siloxane, deuterated siloxy, or deuterated germyl, wherein adjacent groups selected from R-Rcan be joined together to form a fused ring; a is 0 or 1; b is 0 or 1; x and x1 are the same or different and are an integer from 0-5; y and y1 are the same or different and are an integer from 0-4; n is an integer greater than 0, with the proviso that when n=1, Land Lare selected from Cl, Br, crosslinkable groups and deuterated crosslinkable groups; and BzF is benzofluorene.

Electroactive materials

A hole transport copolymer having the following Formula III is disclosed herein:  In some embodiments, A is a monomeric unit having Formula Ia or Formula IIa, B is a B is a monomeric unit having at least three points of attachment in the copolymer, E is the same or different at each occurrence and is selected from the group consisting of H, D, halide, alkyl, aryl, arylamino, siloxane, crosslinkable groups, deuterated alkyl, deuterated aryl, deuterated arylamino, deuterated siloxane, and deuterated crosslinkable groups, and x, y, and z are the same or different and are mole fractions, such that x+y+z=1, and x and y are non-zero.

Hole transport materials

There is disclosed a compound having Formula I In Formula I: Rand Rare the same or different and are H or D;Ris the same or different at each occurrence and D, CN, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, silyl, germyl, deuterated alkyl, deuterated alkoxy, deuterated silyl, or deuterated germyl; a is an integer from 0-4; Qand Qare the same or different and are H, D, alkyl, deuterated alkyl, aryl, deuterated aryl, or a group having Formula II*-(L)-HT&#x2003;&#x2003;(II)At least one of Qand Qis a group having Formula II. Crosslinkable hole transport materials

There is provided a hole transport polymer having a carbazole group and an amino nitrogen having Formula I  In the formula: Ar, Ar, and Arare the same or different and are substituted or unsubstituted aryl groups or deuterated aryl groups; Aris substituted or unsubstituted aryl groups or deuterated aryl groups; E is the same or different at each occurrence and is selected from the group consisting of H, D, halide, alkyl, aryl, siloxane, deuterated alkyl, deuterated aryl, deuterated siloxane, and a crosslinking group; R-Rare the same or different at each occurrence and are selected from the group consisting of D, F, CN, alkyl, fluoroalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, amino, silyl, germyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, fluoroalkoxy, siloxane, siloxy, deuterated alkyl, deuterated partially-fluorinated alkyl, deuterated aryl, deuterated heteroaryl, deuterated amino, deuterated silyl, deuterated germyl, deuterated alkoxy, deuterated aryloxy, deuterated fluoroalkoxy, deuterated siloxane, deuterated siloxy, and crosslinking groups, wherein adjacent groups selected from Rand Rcan be joined together to form a fused ring; a is an integer from 0-4; b is an integer from 0-3; and n is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

This invention relates to triarylamine compounds and compositions including such compounds, that are useful in electronic applications. It also relates to electronic devices in which the active layer includes such a compound or composition. The triarylamine compound can be present as a hole transport material in a hole transport layer. The triarylamine compound can also be present in a photoactive layer in combination with an organometallic compound capable of electroluminescence having an emission maximum between 380 and 750 nm.

High energy triarylamine compounds for hole transport materials

There is provided a copolymer having Formula I In Formula I: A is a monomeric unit containing at least one triarylamine group; B' is a monomeric unit having at least three points of attachment in the copolymer; C&#x2032; is an aromatic monomeric unit or a deuterated analog thereof; E is the same or different at each occurrence and can be H, D, halide, alkyl, silyl, germyl, aryl, arylamino, siloxane, a crosslinkable group, deuterated alkyl, deuterated silyl, deuterated germyl, deuterated aryl, deuterated arylamino, deuterated siloxane, or a deuterated crosslinkable group; a, b, and c are the same or different and are mole fractions, such that a+b+c=1, and a and b are non-zero.

There is provided a hole transport compound having Formula I In Formula I: Ar-Arare selected from the group consisting of aryl groups and deuterated aryl groups; with the proviso that Aris not the same as Ar, E is the same or different at each occurrence, and n is an integer greater than or equal to 1. There is also a hole transport compound having Formula II In Formula II: Ar-Arare the same or different and are aryl groups or deuterated aryl groups; Eis the same or different at each occurrence; R-Rare the same or different at each occurrence; a-e are the same or different and are in integer from 0-4; m is an integer from 0-6; o is an integer greater than or equal to 1. There is also provided an organic electronic device.
