An improved method is disclosed for forming a printed circuit board. The desired printed circuit is established on the surface of a plastic core sheet by placing recesses therein conforming to the desired circuit, and a conductive coating is then applied so that the coating is retained at the recesses. Circuit patterns are preferably pressed into one or both sides of the plastic core sheet, and holes can be placed through the sheet to allow circuit connections between the patterns on the opposite sides of the sheet and to receive electrical leads of circuit components. A thin conductive coating is applied by vacuum deposition, and can be thickness enhanced by electroplating. In addition, multilayered printed circuit boards of more than two layers can be formed by applying one or more laminate sheets of plastic to the surfaces of a core sheet having printed circuits formed thereon, and then pressing circuit patterns into the exposed side of the laminate sheets to form recesses therein, which surfaces then have conductive material applied thereto so that the conductive material is retained at the recesses therein to thus form additional printed circuit board layers.

Method for forming printed circuit board

In addition to oxygen concentrator apparatus utilizing two zeolite beds and alternating, pressure controlled pressurization and exhaust cycles, with a swash plate cylindrical pump having a pressure sensitive idle mode, improved oxygen concentrator apparatus is also disclosed. The improved oxygen concentrator apparatus has an isothermal, high volume, low pressure air flow system with unrestricted air conducting lines and ports throughout for more efficient and effective oxygen production. It includes a unique rotary vane pump designed for essentially isothermal air pumping and has precision collet mounted rotor with centering apparatus, tapered vanes for reduced wear and erosion, and combination cast iron pump chamber liner with external aluminum finned casing to enhance both durability and heat dissipation. It also includes a combination double one-way and balancer valve for controlling the flow of oxygen-enriched air downstream from the zeolite beds.

Method and apparatus for concentrating oxygen

The disclosure of this invention includes a pressure swing adsorption oxygen concentrator having a plurality of zeolitic molecular sieve beds. The pressure and air flow in each bed is alternately charged between pressurizing and air flow in one direction to bleeding and counter flow in the opposite direction. Each time this change occurs, additional oxygen enriched gas from the pressurized bed to increase the incremental oxygen purity. These changes in this invention are initiated by a pressure sensitive transducer which detects a predetermined upper pressure limit. The air compressor drive includes a spring-biased swash plate which reciprocates the piston rods of reciprocating piston compressor pumps.

A liquid meter including a freely rotatable impeller driven by a constant speed drive. Liquid to be metered is introduced as a flow against, and accelerated by, the impeller. The energy necessary to accelerate the liquid is monitored to determine liquid flow. Preferably, the impeller is driven through a magnetic coupling which facilitates isolation of at least large portions of the drive from the liquid flow. One preferred embodiment employs a pair of spring coupled shutters with one shutter being magnetically coupled to the impeller. The displacement of the spring is dependent on liquid flow with that displacement being determined by photoelectrically monitoring the relative positions of the shutters. The power necessary to maintain the drive at constant speed may also, or alternatively, be monitored to determine liquid flow.

Flow meter with a motor driven impeller

Fluid, such as milk, is conducted into the meter through an inlet passage and received in a fluid receptacle at least a portion of which is movable with at least a portion of the movement being in response to receipt of the fluid with the fluid then being expelled from the meter through a discharge passage. A sensor senses the movement of the movable portion caused by receipt of fluid in the fluid reservoir and, responsive thereto, provides an electrical signal indicative of the amount of fluid received, which electrical signal is coupled from the meter for utilization purposes. In one disclosed embodiment, a rotating wheel has fluid receptacles at the rim to receive the fluid conducted into the meter with the fluid being later (in the rotation of the wheel) dumped from the receptacle and expelled from the meter through the discharge passage. The wheel is rotatably driven through a collar and shaft having a torsion spring therebetween with the weight of the fluid acting on the torsion spring enabling the shaft to angularly lead the collar by an amount dependent upon the weight of the fluid in the receptacle. This angular lead is sensed and an electrical signal produced that is indicative of fluid flow and/or the weight per unit of time of fluid passing through the meter.

Milk production meter

A valving system is disclosed that is useful for milking of animals such as cows. A stimulator, that includes one or more stimulator units each of which has biased elements, is releasably positioned on one or more teats of the animal to be milked and a warm liquid such as water is conducted through the stimulator units and ejected therefrom onto the associated teat or teats in order to induce milk let down. Each biased element has resilient gripping teeth to engage the teats of the animal to be stimulated. After the supply of liquid is terminated and the teat cups of a milking apparatus have been positioned on the animal, milk is withdrawn from the animal through a valve under the control of a control unit that has an input responsive to the temperature of the milk being withdrawn. When the temperature falls to a predetermined point indicating the end of milking of the animal and to automatically cause the valve to assume a rinse and/or drain position to rinse or sanitize the milking apparatus and allow the same to drain. The valve is multi-ported and three embodiments have been disclosed. In two embodiments, the rinse and drain positions are separate while in a third embodiment, the rinse and drain positions are combined.

Valving system for milking

A stimulating and valving system is disclosed that is useful for milking of animals such as cows. A stimulator, that includes one or more stimulator units each of which has biased elements, is releasably positioned on one or more teats of the animal to be milked and a warm liquid such as water is connected through the stimulator units and ejected therefrom onto the associated teat or teats in order to induce milk let down. Each biased element has resilient gripping teeth to engage the teats of the animal to be stimulated.
