A head unit of a depilation appliance comprises at least one pair () of hair-clamping elements (), wherein the hair-clamping elements () have tweezer surfaces () which are arranged to face each other, and which are movable towards and away from each other in their entirety so as to be movable into and out of contact to each other. In order to achieve improved hair-clamping performance of the at least one pair () of hair-clamping elements (), the tweezer surfaces () are further configured to move into alignment with each other in the process of getting into contact to each other, wherein the entirety of the tweezer surface () of one () of the hair-clamping elements () is tillable relative to a support () that is included in the respective hair-clamping element ().

Improving hair-clamping performance of a pair of hair-clamping elements

A depilating device () comprises a depilating body () which is rotatable about a rotation axis (R) extending in a longitudinal direction (L) with respect to the depilating body () and which is provided with at least one hair-catching space (). The depilating device () further comprises an actuating mechanism () configured to act on the depilating body () so as to cause compression and extension of the depilating body () in the longitudinal direction (L) during rotational movement of the depilating body () about the rotation axis (R), for the purpose of varying the size of the hair-catching space () of the depilating body () in the longitudinal direction (L), wherein the actuating mechanism () includes a force-inducing member () which is compressible and extensible in the longitudinal direction (L) and which has a function in determining the level of a hair-clamping force in the depilating body ().

Depilating device

An epilating device for extracting hairs out of a user's skin, including hair-clamping elements that are arranged adjacent to each other and rotatable relative to a housing. A drive system rotates the hair-clamping elements which co-operate in pairs and are moveable relative to each other during rotation. On each side surface facing an adjacent hair-clamping element, there is a hair-clamping section and a hair-catching section. The hair-catching sections of adjacent hair-clamping elements define a funnel area, wherein the hair-catching sections converge towards each other for guiding hairs towards the hair-clamping sections. The hair-clamping sections of adjacent hair-clamping elements are movable relative to each other from an open position, where the hair-clamping sections are at a distance from each other, to a closed position, where the hair-clamping sections are in mutual clamping engagement in a hair-clamping area.

Epilating device

There is disclosed a coupling unit () for transmission of a rotary driving force, comprising a first coupling member () having a curved first bearing surface () and a second coupling member () having a main coupling body () and a curved second bearing surface engaging the first bearing surface thereby enabling rotation of the second coupling member () relative to the first coupling member (). The second coupling member comprises at least two carrying elements () which are each provided with a respective one of at least two second bearing surface segments () of the second bearing surface that engage the first bearing surface. At least two connecting elements () of the second coupling member () each connect a respective one of the at least two carrying elements () with the main coupling body () and comprise an elastically deformable material. In a first deformed condition the elastically deformable material provides a first biasing force urging the at least two second bearing surface segments () into contact with the first bearing surface. A blocking element () of the first coupling member () is arranged between the first bearing surface () and the main coupling body () and is configured to prevent passage of the carrying elements () along the blocking element at least in the first deformed condition. In a second deformed condition of the elastically deformable material, wherein the elastically deformable material provides a second biasing force larger than the first biasing force, the carrying elements () are able to pass along the blocking element.

Coupling unit

There is disclosed an attachment () for a cutting head () of a hair cutting device (). The attachment () comprises first and second side portions () configured to cover, respectively, first and second sides () of a stationary cutting member () of the cutting head (), and an intermediate portion () interconnecting the first and second side portions () and configured to cover an outer surface () of a first wall portion () of the stationary cutting member (). The first and second side portions () are configured to protrude relative to the plurality of primary cutter teeth () of the stationary cutting member (), which define a cutting zone of the cutting head. The first and second side portions () and the intermediate portion () define a recess exposing the primary cutter teeth () of the stationary cutting member (). The recess is non-interrupted over a distance of at least 50% of the length of the cutting zone.

Hair cutting system and attachment

A self-aligning coupling linkage for a drive train, of a hair cutting appliance having a driving shaft and a non-aligning output shaft, includes a joint section having first and second connector portions that are configured to engage one another for torque transmission. The first second connector portions define a male connector having an external polygonal profile, viewed in a cross-sectional plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis, and a female connector having an internal engagement profile. The male and female connectors are arranged in a self-aligning fashion for angular offset compensation, where wherein at least one of the male and female connectors is provided with at least one circumferentially arranged deflectable compensation element configured to urge the male and female connectors towards a centered alignment.

Coupling mechanism for a drive train of a hair cutting appliance

The present invention relates to a drive train () of a hair cutting appliance () and to a self-aligning coupling linkage () for a drive train (). The coupling linkage () comprises a driving shaft and a non-aligning output shaft (), said coupling linkage () comprising: a first driving coupling element () arranged to be driven by a driving shaft (), particularly by a motor shaft, a transmission shaft (), particularly a rigid transmission shaft (), comprising a first drivable coupling element () at a first end and a second driving coupling element () at a second end thereof, wherein first driving coupling element () engages the first drivable coupling element () for rotatingly driving the transmission shaft (), thereby forming a first pivoting joint (), wherein the second driving coupling element () is arranged to engage a second drivable coupling element () of an output shaft (), wherein the first driving coupling element () and the first drivable coupling element () define a male connector comprising an external polygonal profile (), viewed in a cross-sectional plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis, and a female connector comprising an internal polygonal profile (), and wherein the external polygonal profile () of the male connector, viewed in a longitudinal axial section, is at least sectionally provided with convexly shaped flanks ().

A hair cutting appliance includes a linkage unit configured to couple a cutting unit and to a housing of the hair cutting appliance. The linkage unit includes a four-bar linkage mechanism having first and second arms which respectively include first and second bases pivots coupled to a base. The first and second base pivots are arranged at the base at a fixed distance. The first arm and second arms also respectively include first and second top pivots coupled to a connecting bar. The connecting bar is configured to be coupled to the cutting unit such that, during operation, the cutting unit is pivotably supported by the four-bar linkage mechanism.
