A stationary blade for a blade set of a hair cutting appliance is arranged to be moved through hair in a moving direction to cut hair. The stationary blade includes: a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion; and at least one toothed leading edge comprising a plurality of teeth and being jointly provided by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The first wall portion and the second wall portion are connected at a frontal end of the at least one toothed leading edge to provide tips of the teeth. A blade set including the stationary blade and a moveable cutting blade are also arranged to cut hair. A method of fabricating a blade set is also described.

Blade set, hair cutting appliance, and related manufacturing method

A shaving appliance and a shaving unit are described. The shaving unit has a rotary cutter having a plurality of cutter blades that are provided with a cutting edge. The shaving track includes hair-entry slots that, seen in the direction of movement, have a frontal edge and a rear edge. A slot angle (&#x3b1;) defined as an angle of inclination between the frontal edges (48, 148) of the hair-entry slots. A shearing angle (&#x3b4;), defined as a difference between the slot angle (&#x3b1;) and an angle of inclination (&#x3b2;) of cutting edges of cutter blades with respect to the radial direction. The shearing angle (&#x3b4;) is defined at an actual point where the frontal edges and the cutting edges cooperate.

Shaving unit and shaving appliance

A hair cutting appliance, a blade set for a hair cutting appliance, and to a stationary blade for the blade set. The stationary blade includes a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation, a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion, such that the first wall portion and the second wall portion define therebetween a guide slot arranged to receive a movable cutter blade in a defined mating manner, and at least one toothed leading edge having a plurality of teeth jointly formed by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The stationary blade is an integrally formed metal-plastic composite stationary blade. A cutting appliance and a blade set that includes a cutter and a stationary blade. The stationary blade has a guide slot. A cutter is movably arranged within the guide slot. The cutter includes, at a side thereof facing away from a skin facing wall of the stationary blade, an elevated spacing arrangement associated with a toothed leading edge of the cutter, and being configured for spacing a substantially flat bottom surface of the at toothed leading edge of the cutter away from the skin facing wall.

Blade set and hair cutting appliance

The present application relates to a device for cutting hair comprising a skin contacting face () that is placed against a surface of the skin () of a user during use. The device also has an optical system configured to direct a cutting laser beam () across a cutting zone () parallel to and spaced from said skin contacting face to cut hairs extending into the cutting zone. Also provided is a laser positioning mechanism which is arranged so that, during use of the device, the distance (H) between said cutting laser beam and said skin contacting face is changed to maintain a predetermined distance between the cutting laser beam and the surface of the skin of a user.

Hair cutting device

A hair cutting device () is provided comprising a cutter unit (), a skin stretcher () and slit adapting means. The cutter unit () comprises a skin-contact surface for dragging over a skin surface () in a shaving direction (), a front surface arranged in front of the skin-contact surface in the shaving direction (), and a laser beam exit window arranged in the front surface for allowing a hair cutting laser beam () to cut a hair () near the skin surface () in front of the front surface. The skin stretcher () is positioned in front of the cutter unit (), according to the shaving direction (), and comprises a stretcher surface for dragging over the skin surface () together with the skin-contact surface, such that a skin dome () is formed by the skin surface () in a slit between the skin stretcher () and the cutter unit (). The slit adapting means are provided for adapting at least one dimension () of the slit for controlling a shape of the skin dome ().

Shaving apparatus having at least one cutting unit with an external cutting member and a rotatable internal cutting member each the external and internal cutting members having cooperating cutting edges forming bearing surfaces of a first bearing, and a second bearing with bearing surfaces. To minimize the friction between the cutting edges, a support device having visco-elastic properties is provided between the two bearings. During operation, the distance between the bearing surfaces of the first bearing adjusts to the distance between the bearing surfaces of the second bearing. During cutting of hairs, the support device behaves as a stiff element whereas during periods in which no hairs are cut, the support device behaves relatively soft so that the cutting gaps between the cutting edges are closed.

Shaving apparatus

Shaving apparatus having at least one cutting unit with an external cutting member and a movable internal cutting member. An energy-dissipating system is provided between mutually movable parts of the internal or an external cutting member to reduce the bouncing effect between the internal and external cutting member after cutting a hair. Such an energy-dissipating system may for example be an element with visco-elastic properties.

Hair cutting apparatus having at least one cutting unit () with a stationary cutting member () and reciprocable movable cutting member () each having cooperating bearing surfaces () with cutting edges (). To minimize the friction between the bearing surfaces a visco-elastic element is provided between the coupling element () and the movable cutting member () resulting in a small cutting gap between the bearing surfaces. During cutting of hairs the visco-elastic element behaves as a stiff element whereas during periods in which no hairs are cut the element behaves relatively soft so that the cutting gaps between the cutting edges are closed.
