The setting apparatus includes a housing having an operating grip mounted thereon for pivotal movement about a first axis between a neutral position and a second position for adjusting a signal changing device. An abutment member is mounted by the housing to pivot about an axis extending perpendicular to the first axis and has a face in abutting relationship to the face of a pressure face member. A rod and a spring are mounted by the operating grip for longitudinal movement and rotary movement relative to the grip to retain the pressure member face in abutting relationship to the abutment member face for selectively adjusting the neutral position of the operating grip upon rotation of the rod and resiliently urging the operating grip to its neutral position when the operating grip is moved out of its various selected adjusted neutral positions. The pressure member face is inclined relative to the axis of rotary movement of the rod and when the rod is rotated, pivots the abutment member relative to the housing and the pressure face. The signal device includes a first part attached to the operating grip pivot to pivot as the operating grip is pivoted and a second part mounted by the housing in engagement with the first part.

Setting apparatus

The torque meter has a shaft with a reduced diameter intermediate portion with a sleeve that at its axial opposite ends is in fixed axial and rotational relation thereto. The sleeve intermediate portion has circumferentially extending lugs that are joined to the sleeve end portions. The lugs circumferentially opposite their juncture to the sleeve end portion mount an armature. The rotation of the sleeve ends relative to one another axially displaces the armature and changes an electric or magnetic field. At least one coil is in fixed axial and rotational relationship to the sleeve for detecting a change in the field for measuring the torque.

Torque meter

A PTC starter that is electrically connected to an asynchronous motor by pins that extend through holes into the starter housing, which includes an open top, generally box shaped base portion and a cover having a downwardly opening recess mountable on the base portion. Support structure is provided in the base portion for loosely retaining a disc shaped PTC resistor and a pair of contact members on opposite sides of the resistor in a loose stacked relationship with the resistor, the support structure including a base portion receptacle for loosely retaining an electrical terminal bushing portion adjacent to a contact member. The cover in having its recessed portion moved downwardly along the contact members and resistor result in the contact members being resilient retained in electrical engagement with the resistor electrode surfaces, and at least two terminals extending upwardly through the cover. Advantageously the housing mounts a thermal protective switch for the motor.
