A belt retractor for a motor vehicle seat belt device, with a rotatably mounted belt reel onto which a seat belt is wound, and a belt tensioner with a drive wheel (), which drives the belt reel in the event of an activation. A positively controlled tensioner coupling transfers the drive movement from the drive wheel () onto the belt reel. At least one coupling pawl () mounted on the drive wheel () and which is moved into and out of engagement with a toothing () rotationally fixed in relation to the belt reel to establish and disconnect a rotational connection of the drive wheel () with the belt reel. A friction ring () has a control arm () coupled with the coupling pawl (), wherein in the event of an activation of the belt tensioner, the friction ring () performs a relative movement to the drive wheel () by frictional forces and, controls via the control arm () the movement of the coupling pawl () into engagement and disengagement with the toothing (). The friction ring () and/or the coupling pawl () has a blocking contour (), positioned such that the coupling pawl () abuts thereon after the disengaging movement out of the toothing () and is blocked in the direction of a repeated engagement movement into the toothing ().

A control method for an electric seatbelt retractor and an electric seatbelt retractor including a spindle () and a seatbelt () wound thereon, and an electric motor () driving the spindle () via a rotor () in pull-in or in pull-out direction when activated, and a sensor device () detecting the movement of the spindle (), wherein a spring () is provided, which is arranged between the spindle () and the rotor () enabling a relative movement of the spindle () to the rotor () or to a retractor-fixed part, wherein the electric motor () is controlled by a signal of the sensor device () generated by the relative movement of the spindle () to the rotor () or a retractor-fixed part with torsional tensioning or expanding the spring ().

Control method for an electric seatbelt retractor and electric seatbelt retractor

A safety belt retractor is provided as a safety system in motor vehicles. The belt shaft is mounted in a U-shaped housing and serves as a carrier for a belt strap wound thereon. A rotation dampener is provided as a force limiting element and acts upon the belt shaft. The rotation dampener comprises: a cylindrical housing filled with a highly viscous medium, at least one apertured disk fixedly disposed in the cylindrical housing, and at least one disk piston disposed in the cylindrical housing parallel to the apertured disk, wherein the disk piston is fixedly connected to the belt shaft, the rotation of which is to be dampened, and wherein the disk piston is provided with a radially extending piston wing that rotates upon rotation of the disk piston.

A seat belt system for a motor vehicle is provided that includes a seat belt retractable from a seat belt winding roller and having an extent which passes to and through a connecting tongue for releasably connecting the seat belt to a seat latch and having an end secured to an end fixture fixedly connected to the motor vehicle. An electrical lead extends along at least a portion of the longitudinal extent of the seat belt. A measuring device measures a variation in an electrical property of the electrical lead, which varies in correspondence with the extension of the seat belt due to the application of a pulling force on the seat belt. An evaluation device evaluates the measurements performed by the measuring device to yield an output representative of the pulling force applied to the seat belt.
