Apparatus for producing a leno fabric includes a plurality of juxtaposed stationary needles () each fitted with one guide eye for a single warp and in addition a device () fitted with a plurality of juxtaposed warp guide eyes, the device () being displaceable relative to the stationary needles () along the needles' longitudinal direction and transversely thereof. The guide-eyes fitted device () is guided during longitudinal displacements along the longitudinal direction of the needles and along respective transverse displacements by guides ().

A loom drive comprising a drive motor (1) connected by a gear unit to first driven components (20) and to second driven components (23), a switching gear (15) being mounted inside the gear unit and being displaceable into different switch positions in such manner that in one switch position the main drive motor (1) drives the first and second driven components (20, 23) and that in another switch position the drive connection to the first or second driven components (20, 23) is interrupted.

Variable drive system for driven loom components

In an apparatus for selecting and feeding wefts to an insertion device of a weaving machine, the feeders are directly connected to eccentric drives which have an excursion corresponding at least to the paths covered by the feeders between their rest and feed positions, and each feeder is associated with a guide and arranged to compensate for transverse displacements of the eccentric drives which deviate from the reciprocating motions of the feeders. The feeders have an excursion corresponding to at least the distance between the rest and feed positions of the feeder, with each feeder together with a drive motor, the eccentric drive, and the guide forming a module to simplify matching of yarn feeders to the requirements of a specific fabric and exchange of units in case of a defect. Advantageously, the modules of neighboring feeders may be mounted in mirror-symmetric manner relative to a common plane in which all of the feeders are mounted. The drive motor is preferably connected to a control unit arranged to control the drive motor to position the feeder at a position intermediate between the rest and the feed positions and selected in such a manner that the weft is deflected as little as possible by the feeder when being inserted.

Apparatus for selectively moving weft feeders between a rest position

A device for the removal of dust from parts protecting weaving machine components from weaving dust includes a dust screen, a number of freely movable blowing tubes which direct air from their open ends into an area adjacent the dust screen, and blowing devices for feeding air through the tubes. Removed dust is disposed of by a separate device such as a suction nozzle.
