A system for managing physical and logical resources to provide on-demand synchronization or migration of mailboxes and their corresponding content. Physical resources are managed by automatically assigning mailbox processing tasks to either reserved computing resources, or computing resources dynamically obtained from cloud computing services. Authentication resources are managed by automatically requesting credentials from users, accepting submitted credentials, and initiating mailbox processing tasks.

On-demand mailbox synchronization and migration system

Examples described include software hosting systems able to provide software as a service to client systems through a firewall and/or to client systems which do not have web service capability. Examples include mailbox migration systems for migrating mailboxes from a source messaging system (e.g. a Lotus Notes system) to a destination messaging system. Software hosting systems described herein may maintain an action buffer including a next action to be performed by the source messaging system, and wait for data (e.g. messaging system content) to be returned and stored in a data buffer. Communication between the software hosting system and the source messaging system may occur over a communication channel which may be operated through a firewall using HTTP.

Systems and methods for migrating mailbox data from systems with limited or restricted remote access

A permission information system and method are provided. The system facilitates management of permissions across a wide variety of systems and applications in a network environment. The system includes a data store which is a central repository that maintains permissions (e.g., in a user readable format). The permissions can, optionally, be translated into a format that is useable by endpoint system(s). The system further includes a metadirectory component which notices change(s) that are created in the data store and sends the security information to the endpoint system(s). The new security policy can then installed and enforced on the endpoint systems. The system can thus employ the capabilities of a metadirectory to distribute security policy(ies) to these end-point systems. The system can, optionally, include one or more translator(s) which transform the user readable format into a format that is consumable by the endpoint system(s).

A method and system for managing and applying entitlements is described herein. An identity integration server centrally manages data associated with entitlements for a plurality of identities. The integration server may select one of a plurality of workflows. One or more of a plurality of entitlements to be used in the workflow are selected, and a set of identities for which the workflow is applicable is selected. A determination is made as to whether the workflow should be run on the identities. If so, then the workflow is initiated. The one or more entitlements are then added to a granted entitlements list. Then, a separate process may be initiated to apply the one or more entitlements to the one or more identities.
