A system includes a hanger running tool that has a first lock ring configured to secure the hanger running tool to a hanger when a first axial force is applied to the hanger running tool and a tool body configured to direct a push ring of the hanger in an axial direction when a second axial force is applied to the hanger running tool, where the push ring is configured to direct a second lock ring of the hanger radially outward toward a tubular, and where the hanger running tool is configured to secure the hanger to the tubular without rotating the hanger running tool.

A running tool assembly for installing a seal assembly in a wellhead housing includes a mandrel configured to couple with a conveyance string and including a central passage, a first piston slidably disposed about the mandrel and configured to releasably couple with the seal assembly, and a second piston slidably disposed in the central passage of the mandrel and including an annular seal that sealingly engages an inner surface of the central passage, wherein, when the running tool assembly is disposed in the wellhead housing, the second piston is configured to set an axially settable component in response to a pressurization of the central passage of the mandrel.

Seal assembly running tools and methods

A running tool assembly for installing a hanger in a wellhead housing includes a first body configured to support the hanger, a second body coupled to the first body, a piston moveable relative to the second body, wherein the piston includes a first position and a second position spaced from the first position, and a piston chamber formed in the running tool assembly, wherein, when the assembly is coupled to the hanger and the hanger is positioned in the wellhead housing, the piston is configured to actuate from the first position to the second position in response to a pressurization of the piston chamber to engage a locking member disposed about the hanger and thereby lock the hanger to the wellhead housing, the assembly including a passage having a diameter that is equal to or larger in size than a diameter of a passage of the hanger.

Running tool assemblies and methods

A system that includes a hanger orientation system that orients a tubing hanger within a wellhead. The hanger orientation system includes a conduit defining a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A sleeve couples to the conduit. The sleeve defines a spiral groove that engages a pin to rotate the tubing hanger.

Hanger orientation system

A tubing or casing hanger assembly includes a tubing or casing hanger including a first key disposed on an outer surface of the hanger, and a locking member disposed about the hanger, the locking member including a first key disposed on an inner surface of the hanger, wherein the locking member includes a first position where the first key of the locking member is circumferentially spaced from the first key of the hanger, and a second position where the first key of the locking member circumferentially overlaps with the first key of the locking member to couple the locking member with the hanger.

Lockdown system and method

An outer casing string, including a surface casing head, and associated installation method. In some embodiments, the surface casing head includes an outer tubular member insertable through a diverter of an installed conductor system, an inner tubular member at least partially disposed within and moveable relative to the outer tubular member, and a sleeve ring rotatably coupled to the inner tubular. The outer tubular member has an annular recess. The sleeve ring includes a snap ring that is displaceable between an extended position and a retracted position. In the extended position, at least a portion of the snap ring is received within the annular recess, and the outer tubular member is axially immovable relative to the inner tubular member. In the retracted position, no portion of the snap ring is received within the annular recess, and the outer tubular member is axially moveable relative to the inner tubular member.

Outer casing string and method of installing same

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a housing running tool including an inner sleeve having a first mating surface configured to engage a second mating surface of a housing to rigidly couple the inner sleeve to the housing. The housing running tool also includes an outer sleeve disposed about the inner sleeve and configured to support the inner sleeve in an axial direction. The outer sleeve includes a first mounting feature configured to engage a second mounting feature of the housing such that substantially all torque applied to the housing running tool in a circumferential direction is transferred to the housing via the outer sleeve.

A system includes a control block configured to be coupled to a tree of a wellhead assembly. The control block includes a housing and a plate supported by the housing and having a radially inner wall defining an opening configured to receive a tubing member extending from the tree. The control block also includes a first recess extending circumferentially about the radially inner wall of the plate and configured to support a first annular seal to facilitate sealing the tubing member within the opening while the tubing member is positioned within the opening. The control block may also include a second recess extending circumferentially about the radially-inner wall of the opening and configured to support a second annular seal.

Control line termination assembly

In certain embodiments, a hanger running tool includes an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The inner sleeve has a first mating surface configured to engage a second mating surface of a hanger to couple the inner sleeve to the hanger. The outer sleeve is disposed about the inner sleeve. The outer sleeve is configured to rotate about a common longitudinal axis with respect to the inner sleeve.

System and method for casing hanger running

A running tool () for inserting and setting an assembly into a bore in a well, the tool comprising a main body () having a hydraulic cylinder () for actuating one or more locking elements () on the main body for, in use, reaction with the bore, an outer sleeve () rotatably mounted on the main body, a rotatable mandrel () to which, in use, torque is applied and means () for transmitting the torque from the mandrel to the outer sleeve.
