Cot fastening systems which fix and hold an emergency cot to a crash stable, cot fastener track included in the system and provided within an emergency vehicle and methods of affixing the emergency cot thereto are disclosed. The track has a longitudinal length with first and second ends, open side rails longitudinally extending between the ends, and a channel centrally located between the rails. The side rails align, accommodate and guide a first fixture of the cot towards the first end as the cot is rolled within the vehicle and to retain the first fixture adjacent the first end at least vertically and laterally therein. The channel accommodates therein and retains a second fixture adjacent the second end at least vertically and laterally therein. A securing mechanism releasably prevents removal of the first fixture from the open side rails and removal of the second fixture from the channel.

Cot fastening system having a crash stable, cot fastener track and method of affixing an emergency cot thereto

Cot fastening systems () which fix and hold an emergency cot () to a crash stable cot fastener track () provided within an emergency vehicle (). The track () has a longitudinal length with front () and back ends (), open side rails () longitudinally extending between the ends, and a channel () centrally located between the rails. The side rails () align, accommodate and guide a forward fixture () of the cot towards the front end () as the cot () is rolled within the vehicle to retain the forward fixture () adjacent the front end () at least vertically and laterally. The channel () accommodates and retains a rearward fixture () adjacent the back end () at least vertically and laterally. A securing mechanism () releasably prevents removal of the forward fixture () from the open side rails and removal of the rearward fixture () from the channel ().

A support in the form of a high directional having a configurable number of telescoping legs is disclosed. The support provides a head and a plurality of telescoping legs, the head having a plurality of head units and each head unit having at least one associated leg depending therefrom. Each head unit being adapted to be coupled to at least two other head units.

A cot operable to fold one or more legs thereof with the advancing of the cot onto a support object is disclosed. The cot comprises a wheeled transporter, having a frame and legs, and a leg release assembly. The leg release assembly comprises a contact member, a leg release member releasably engaged with at least one of the legs, and a linkage member operably connecting the contact member and the leg release member. The contact member is pressure-sensitive and activates with an application of pressure thereto. The leg release member releases the at least one of the legs from an engagement therewith with activation of the contact member. The at least one of legs folds relative to the frame with the release of the engagement with the leg release member.

A roll-in cot having a patient support attached to a wheeled transporter wherein the wheeled transporter comprises leading and trailing collapsible legs having respective proximal ends pivotally connected to a frame and distal ends including wheels wherein at least the leading or the trailing collapsible legs are operable from a locked condition by a release assembly wherein the release assembly comprises a safety and a leg release wherein one of said safety and said leg release comprises a linkage, wherein in an activated condition the linkage prevents the collapse of the collapsible legs, said linkage is connected to a touch bar disposed in front of said collapsible legs whereby engagement of the touch bar against a platform deactivates the linkage and enables the collapsible legs to be collapsed on release of the other of said safety and said leg release.

A roll-in cot () having a patient support attached to a wheeled transporter wherein the wheeled transporter comprises leading () and trailing () collapsible legs having respective proximal ends pivotally connected to a frame () and distal ends including swivel castor wheels (A,B) wherein at least the swivel castors (A) of the leading collapsible legs () are operable in either a swivel or lock mode, and wherein the swivel mode is only operable by a castor release mechanism () while the cot () is in a fully upright position.
