Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes identifying, while the UE is in a connected mode with a network, a radio resource configuration of the UE, selecting a dedicated set of resources for the UE or a common set of resources for a plurality of UEs based at least in part on the identified radio resource configuration, and transmitting a pilot signal to the network using the selected set of resources. Methods for wireless communication at a network access device and a network access device controller are also described.

Techniques for providing uplink-based mobility

The present disclosure relates to wireless communications, and more particularly to providing connectivity of a PC5 remote user equipment (UE) with UE-to-network (NW) relay access to the 5G core (5GC) via an IWF (e.g., N3IWF). In one aspect, a remote UE may be provided support for a network access stratum (NAS) connection with 5GC via an IWF. In another aspect, Access Traffic Steering, Switching and Splitting (ATSSS) support may be provided for a remote UE.

Techniques for supporting connectivity of remote user equipments with relay access via an interworking function

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for establishing connectivity to legacy generation wireless network via a fully service based wireless network. The fully service based wireless network may offer a core network service that is associated with a central unit of the legacy generation wireless network. A distributed unit (DU) of the fully service based wireless network may indicate to a user equipment (UE) the offered core network service. The UE may receive a service context for communications with the core network service, and the UE may transmit a service message, in accordance with the service context, to the core network service via the DU that may be forwarded to a legacy generation core network.

Establishing connectivity to legacy generation wireless network via a fully service based network

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration including trigger conditions for performance of handover procedures within a service-based wireless system. The UE may transmit a message indicating a satisfaction of a trigger condition to a source network entity, a mobility service offered by a service-based network, or both. After performance of a handover decision by the source network entity, the mobility service, or both, the mobility service may select a target network entity for the handover procedure. The mobility service may select a target network entity that supports at least one active core network service at the UE. The UE may then receive a handover command from the mobility service, and may perform a handover procedure to the target network entity.

Techniques for connected state mobility in a service-based wireless system

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An end-to-end routing layer may address packets between a user equipment (UE) and core network services offered by a service-based network on a per-core network service basis. A UE may communicate directly with a core network service (e.g., based on a network address associated with the core network service) or indirectly (e.g., through a proxy service). The UE may select access stratum (AS) resources over which to transmit an uplink packet data unit based on the target core network service. The UE may receive control signaling from a distributed unit, a system information block (SIB), or point-to-point signaling from the core network services indicating specific AS resources for each core network service. The UE may select logical channels for transmitting the uplink packet data units to specific core network services based on the AS resources associated with each service.

Addressability in a service-based wireless system

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a network node configures a quality of service (QoS) profile comprising one or more file-level QoS parameters, wherein the QoS profile applies to one or more files associated with a service flow associated with a user equipment (UE), wherein each file of the one or more files comprises one or more protocol data units (PDUs), and wherein a header of each PDU of the one or more PDUs of the file includes a file identifier and a file type of the file, and enforces the QoS profile on the one or more files.

High bandwidth low latency cellular traffic awareness

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a method for wireless communication includes determining, by a user equipment (UE), listen before talk (LBT) information associated with new radio-unlicensed (NR-U) operation of the UE. Radio access network (RAN)-centric data collection for new radio (NR)-unlicensed (U)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive during an active duration, an indication of an opportunity to request uplink (UL) transmission. The wireless device may identify an opportunity to request UL transmission based at least in part on the indication. In some cases, the active duration may be a discontinuous transmission (DTX) configuration. The wireless device may then transmit on the UL resources during the opportunity to request UL transmission.

Macro and micro discontinuous transmission

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for controlling access and use of network resources and services by user equipment based on user equipment capabilities. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication by a network entity, includes: receiving, from a user equipment, a request to connect to a network, the request comprising a user equipment identifier and a reduced capability indication; determining a validity of the reduced capability indication based on at least one of: subscription data associated with the user equipment; or one or more capabilities associated with the user equipment; and making a connection decision based on the validity of the reduced capability indication.

Restricted access and use control for user equipment with reduced capabilities

An apparatus receives a small data transmission during an RRC inactive mode, without transitioning the UE to an RRC connected mode. The UE receives a page from a base station for a downlink data transmission while in the RRC inactive mode. The page may indicate a downlink data transmission to occur without transitioning the UE to an RRC connected mode and may indicate a RACH preamble to the UE. The UE transmits a random access preamble to the base station in response to the page and receives a downlink data packet from the base station while remaining in the RRC inactive mode.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a wireless communications system may support machine learning and may configure a user equipment (UE) for machine learning. The UE may transmit, to a base station, a request message that includes an indication of a machine learning model or a neural network function based at least in part on a trigger event. In response to the request message, the base station may transmit a machine learning model, a set of parameters corresponding to the machine learning model, or a configuration corresponding to a neural network function and may transmit an activation message to the UE to implement the machine learning model and the neural network function.

Configuring a user equipment for machine learning

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication that a cell associated with the base station does not support reduced capability UEs, wherein the UE is capable of operating in a first mode that is associated with reduced capability UEs and a second mode that is not associated with reduced capability UEs. Reduced capability user equipment operations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In the context of a service-based wireless system, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with one or more core network services offered by a service-based network, where respective core network services are in one of an active, inactive, or unconnected state at the UE. The UE may be configured to maintain service contexts for communicating with core network services that are in an active or an inactive state at the UE, where signaling between the UE and each respective core network service may be used to activate or deactivate the respective core network services at the UE between the active and inactive states. By maintaining service contexts for inactive core network services, the UE may be able to quickly and efficiently resume communications with a core network service in accordance with the stored service context upon activating the core network service.

Techniques for service states in a service-based wireless system

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate a report for one or more two-step random access channel (RACH) procedures between the UE and a base station (BS), wherein the RACH report includes at least one of an indication of a quantity of message A (MsgA) payloads transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures on each beam of one or more beams associated with the BS, an indication of one or more parameters associated with each MsgA communication transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures, or an indication of whether a respective signal strength for each beam, associated with the one or more two-step RACH procedures, satisfies a signal strength threshold.
