A gas delivery system for a processing chamber includes a first channel for delivering a first chemistry and a second channel for delivering a second chemistry. The first channel includes a first outlet valve and the second channel includes a second outlet valve. A trickle gas source is connected to both the first and the second channels. A first junction is coupled to the first outlet valve and a second junction is connected to the second outlet valve. A common conduit connects between the first junction and the second junction. The first junction includes an input to provide a push gas from a push gas source and the second junction includes an output to a processing chamber. During operation, one of the first channel or the second channel is active at one time. A trickle gas from a trickle gas source is flowed into an active one and a non-active one of the first or second channels. A push inert gas from the push gas source is flowed into the first junction, through the common conduit and out of the second junction to the processing chamber.

A print head has a jet stack, a jet stack heating and temperature measuring element thermally connected to the jet stack, the jet stack heating and temperature measuring element including: a first, etched copper layer having heat spreading characteristics and including a resistive heat source electrically connected in series to a voltage source and a switch; an electrically insulative on a back side of the first copper layer; and a second, etched copper layer on a side of the electrically insulative layer opposite the first copper layer, the second copper layer having a temperature sensing element to sense a temperature of the print head without a thermistor, the temperature sensing element connected in series with a voltage source and a transistor. A print head may use a thermistor but the heat spreading layer eliminates the need for a heat sink to attach to the print head.

Systems and methods for heating and measuring temperature of print head jet stacks

Print head jet stack heating and temperature measurement systems and methods are disclosed that both heat the jet stack and determine a temperature of the jet stack. The heating and temperature determination are performed by a flex circuit that includes multiple layers. One of the layers heats the jet stack and another one of the layers provides data that determines the temperature of the jet stack. The heating layer and the temperature sensing layer are separated by an insulative material in the flex circuit. The temperature of the jet stack can be sent to a print head controller that then determines whether to increase or decrease the temperature of the jet stack.

A process controls application of a release agent to an intermediate imaging member in a printer rotating the intermediate imaging member in a single direction to generate and transfer an image. The process includes moving a release agent applicator into engagement with a rotating imaging member to apply release agent to the rotating imaging member, and subsequently engaging the rotating imaging member with a wiper blade so the wiper blade encounters a the applied release agent bar before the applied release agent reaches a transferring roller. The process further involves the disengagement of release agent applicator with variable time dwell and delayed disengagement of release agent wiper blade to reduce release agent bar. The engagement and disengagement of the release agent applicator and the release agent wiper blade are coordinated by two cams to reduce the likelihood that release agent is transferred to a transferring roller in a quantity sufficient to degrade image quality during duplex printing.
