Illustrative embodiments represent a dynamic on-demand approach to configuring destination storage for bare metal restore (BMR) operations without operator intervention, including destination storage that is smaller than source storage devices. The illustrative operations rely on system state information collected concurrently with or shortly after source data is backed up, thereby capturing current actual storage metrics for the source data. The illustrative embodiments further rely on enhanced data agent components to collect and restore system state information as well as to restore backup data, thereby streamlining the configurations needed for the BMR operation to proceed. Additional business logic matches source mount points with suitable smaller destination storage resources and ensures that the BMR operation successfully completes with diverse and/or smaller storage destinations.

Dynamic resizing and re-distribution of destination data storage resources for bare metal restore operations in a data storage management system

A system for implementing strobing of existing vehicle hazard lights including an interface to a vehicle wiring harness configured to receive input to an existing vehicle flasher module, a strobing circuit that responds to an activation signal from the vehicle wiring harness that is indicative of a hazard flasher deployment event by producing an electrical output having a strobing pattern that is perceptibly faster than a cycle of existing vehicle signal lights, and an OR circuit having two inputs, one of which accepts the electrical output from the strobing circuit and another of which intercepts output to an existing auxiliary vehicle lamp that is not otherwise activated with existing vehicle flashers or signal lights.

Enhanced communication system for vehicle hazard lights

A circuit includes a discharge arrangement configured to discharge an electrostatic charge. The discharge arrangement has a discharge state. A first circuit is configured to provide a pulse to the discharge arrangement when the electrostatic charge is sensed. The pulse causes the discharge arrangement to enter the discharge state. A second circuit is configured to maintain the discharge arrangement in the discharge state after the pulse has ended. A third circuit is configured to receive the pulse and to provide a delayed output to the discharge arrangement. The delayed output causes the discharge arrangement to exit the discharge state.
