Aspects of the technology provide solutions for determining a time period ('epoch') required to monitor or analyze a tenant network. Some implementations of the technology include a process for making automatic epoch determinations, which includes steps for identifying one or more network parameters for a tenant network, analyzing the tenant network using the network parameters to discover one or more configuration settings of the tenant network, and determining a first epoch for the tenant network, the first epoch corresponding with a period of time to complete analysis of the tenant network using the network parameters. In some aspects, the process can further include steps for generating a tenant profile for the tenant network, the tenant profile based on the network parameters, the first epoch, and the one or more configuration settings of the tenant network. Automatically determining an optimal amount of time for analyzing a distributed network environment

Aspects of the technology provide methods for simulating a failure in a tenant network. In some aspects, a monitoring appliance of the disclosed technology can be configured to carry out operations for receiving packets at a virtual device in the monitoring appliance, from a corresponding network device in the tenant network, and instantiating a firewall at the virtual device, wherein the firewall is configured to selectively block traffic routed from the network device to the virtual device in the monitoring appliance. The monitoring appliance can simulate failure of the network device by blocking traffic from the network device to the virtual device using the firewall, and analyze the tenant network to determine a predicted impact a failure of the network device would have on the tenant network. Controlled micro fault injection on a distributed appliance

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for discovering a network's topology and health. In some examples, a system can obtain, from at least one of a plurality of controllers on a network, a logical model of the network, the logical model including configurations of one or more objects defined for the network. Based on the logical model, the system can identify a respective location of the plurality of controllers in the network and a plurality of nodes in a fabric of the network. Based on the respective location of the plurality of controllers and plurality of nodes, the system can poll the plurality of controllers and plurality of nodes for respective status information, and determine a health and topology of the network based on the logical model, the respective location, and respective status information.

According to some embodiments, a system comprises a computer system comprising a processing unit, an interrupt controller, an internal watchdog, and a computer system reset interface. The system further comprises a watchdog controller comprising a secondary watchdog timer. Expiry of the computer system internal watchdog triggers the interrupt controller to cause the processing unit to collect debug information and triggers the watchdog controller to start a secondary watchdog timer. Expiry of the secondary watchdog timer triggers the watchdog controller to reset the computer system.

A method of the technology can include steps for identifying a plurality of operators running in a network monitoring appliance, instantiating a plurality of sensors, wherein each of the plurality of sensors is associated with a respective one of the plurality of operators, and wherein each sensor is configured to capture error log data of its corresponding operator. Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for validating routing table information in a network. A network assurance appliance may be configured to retrieve implemented MP-BGP configuration data from a plurality of nodes in a network fabric and reference MP-BGP configuration data from a network controller. The network assurance appliance compares the implemented MP-BGP configuration data with the reference MP-BGP configuration data and determines that there is a MP-BGP misconfiguration of the implemented MP-BGP configuration data based on differences in the implemented MP-BGP configuration data and the reference MP-BGP configuration data.

Multiprotocol border gateway protocol routing validation

A device receives, from a client device, a first request associated with target audience criteria and a time constraint. Based on the target audience criteria, the device sends, to an information device, a network state request. In response to the network state request, the device receives, from the information device, a network state response including user data associated with user devices. Based on the network state response, the device determines a predicted network state, including predicted user data associated with the user devices, associated with the time constraint. Based on the predicted network state and the target audience criteria, the device determines a predicted quantity of user devices associated with both the target audience criteria and the time constraint. The device sends, to the client device, a first response based on the determination of the predicted quantity of user devices.

A device may receive a request for a mobile device to obtain an application. The request may include a mobile device identifier for the mobile device. The device may send, to the mobile device, a link to a web page. The device may receive, from the mobile device, a request for the web page. The device may receive a registration identifier for the mobile device after the mobile device obtains the application from the software distribution platform. Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for aggregating and presenting network events in a network environment. In some embodiments, a system can maintain event correlation rules for aggregating \network events occurring in a network based on characteristics of previously occurring network events. Network events occurring in the specific network environment can be identified. The network events can be aggregated to form an aggregated network event using the event correlation rules maintained based on the characteristics of previously occurring network events. The aggregated network event can subsequently be presented to a user.

Network assurance event aggregator

Techniques described herein may be used to enable a user to obtain services from multiple organizations in a seamless, automated, and efficient manner. A network device may cause a user device to automatically access a web service by, for example, downloading a mobile application or accessing a web page designed to provide the web service. The network device may automatically identify a second web service that is logically related to the first web service and offer the second web service to the user. If the user accepts the second web service, the network device may cause the user device to automatically access the second web service via a mobile application, a webpage, etc. Identification and authentication issues for accessing the first or second web services may be automatically resolved by network device based on the mobile device number (MDN) of the user device and/or other profile information.

Instant and cohesive user access to diverse web services

An instant access device may receive a request from a user device to access secure content corresponding to a particular web service. The instant access device may create a hash code based on a telephone number of the user device and a hash code, and may communicate the hash code to an authentication system. The authentication system may authenticate the user device by comparing the hash code to a hash table that includes a list of hash codes associated with user devices that are authorized to access the secure content. Based on whether the user device is authenticated by the authentication system, the instant access device may cause the user device to access the secure content, whether by accessing the secure content directly (when the user device authentication is successful) or by creating a new user account (when the user device authentication is unsuccessful).
