The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing NGN-based end user services to legacy subscribers in a communications network. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for providing NGN-based end user services to legacy subscribers in a communications network that includes, at a service creation system (SCS) node having at least one processor, using the at least one processor for receiving a SS7 call setup message associated with a call involving a legacy subscriber access device and holding the SS7 call setup message. The method also includes, while holding the SS7 call setup message, generating a SIP call setup message related to the SS7 call setup message, and initiating the providing of at least one NGN-based end user service for the call using the SIP call setup message. The method further includes determining whether to modify the SS7 call setup message based on the at least one NGN-based end user service, and, in response to determining to modify the SS7 call setup message, modifying the SS7 call setup message, and routing the SS7 call setup message towards a destination.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for providing next generation network (NGN)-based end user services to legacy subscribers in a communications network

Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing an enriched messaging service in a communications system is described. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a signaling message associated with a call at one of a plurality of service dispatch and control (SDC) functions, wherein the call signaling message includes a subscriber identifier. A plurality of call services associated with the subscriber identifier that is to be applied to the call is determined. The method also includes communicating the signaling message from the SDC function to a service platform and receiving back at the SDC function for each of the plurality of call services and thereby sequentially applying the call services to the call.

Methods, systems, and computer program products for applying multiple communications services to a call

Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer program products for decentralized triggerless processing of signaling messages in a multi-application processing environment. According to one method, a signaling message is received at a screening module. At least one application to perform message processing on the signaling message is determined from a screening policy. The signaling message is modified to include application routing information to allow the at least one application to complete signaling message routing. The signaling message is forwarded to, and routed by, the at least one application using the application routing information.

Methods, systems, and computer program products for decentralized processing of signaling messages in a multi-application processing environment

A system and method for generating service quality statistics for a communications network is disclosed. Network monitors capture messages in a communications network, such as an SS7 network, and correlate related messages into records. The records are filtered using a call detail record profile to create call detail records which are provided to an statistics server. The statistics server generates certain statistics for the message records and stores the statistics to a database. A report application recalls the statistics from the database and presents statistics in a reporting format configured by the user. The reports indicate the statistical performance of network providers for selected called or calling telephone numbers or for selected services.

System and method for monitoring service quality in a communications network

A system and method for monitoring service quality using Call Detail Records (CDR) in a communications network, such as a Signaling System No. 7 (SS7) network, is disclosed. Network monitors capture substantially all signaling units in the SS7 network generate a complete record for all calls, transactions and other communications over the network. Users configure CDR profiles that are used to filter the records. A CDR application filters the records by parsing out signaling unit components that have been selected by the user in the CDR profile. The selected message components are then formatted into a CDR record, which is sent to an external system that generates certain statistics for the message records and stores the statistics to a database. A report application recalls the statistics from the database and presents statistics in a reporting format configured by the user. The reports indicate the statistical performance of network providers for selected called or calling telephone numbers or for selected services. The CDRs and statistics are available to a user either in real-time or in response to a query of historical CDR data. The network quality monitoring system is separate and independent from the network monitoring equipment.

A system and method for generating call detail records in a Signaling System,(SS,) network is disclosed. Network monitors that are capable of non-intrusively capturing all signaling units in an SS,network are used to generate a complete record for all TCAP transactions. Users configure CDR profiles that are used to filter the TCAP transaction records. A CDR application filters the TCAP records by parsing out signaling unit components that have been selected by the user in the CDR profile. The selected TCAP message components are then formatted into a CDR record which is sent to an external system, such as the user's billing system.

Transaction control application part (TCAP) call detail record generation in a communications network

A system is provided for monitoring the operation of switching nodes in a telephone network. A first monitor is provided which is operable to capture data on all of the connection links of a first switching node in the network. A second monitor is provided which is operable to capture data on all of the connection links of a second switching node. The first and second monitors capture selected telephone switching messages on the links of the nodes. Each monitor compiles either a primary or secondary record of switching messages pertaining to a particular call or transaction being routed by switching nodes. The primary record is maintained by the monitor which detects the first message which initiates a particular call or transaction. Subsequent messages pertaining to that call or transaction that are captured by the other monitor are compiled in a secondary record. During the call or at the completion of the call or transaction, selected messages stored in the secondary call record are transferred to the monitor containing the primary record by means of a communications bus connecting the two monitors. The composite record is then analyzed by the monitor containing the primary record to evaluate the performance of the telephone switch and to generate performance statistics for the network.
