A device that will increase an inductive proximity sensor's detection distance and detection position is disclosed. The device uses a housing in combination with a sensor and axially magnetized magnet and a target magnet to achieve the increased detection distance and position. The device can be defined as universal because it allows different manufacturers and sizes of sensors to be used and calibrated. An optional threaded end section of the device allows connection of standard conduit fittings.

Sensing device with magnet for extended sensing distance

A weighing apparatus adapted for use in an existing conveyor, and a method for attaching a weighing apparatus to an existing conveyor without removing components or modifying the conveyor. The apparatus comprises a roller, a load cell, a vertical support and a cross member. The cross member is secured to adjacent existing idlers or alternatively to the frame supporting the existing conveyor via non-invasive means that do not require the existing conveyor or components to be removed or modified by cutting, drilling or welding. The roller is capable of precise adjustment both horizontally and vertically relative to the conveyor to ensure levelness and accuracy without the use of tools.

Universal belt scale frame

A scale may include a conveyor belt that carries a load, where the load has a weight. A generator is included that receives mechanical energy arising from movement of the conveyor belt and outputs electrical energy that corresponds to a rate of movement of the conveyor belt. At least one load cell receives the electrical energy from the generator, senses the weight of the load, and outputs a voltage that corresponds to the weight of the load and the rate of movement of the conveyor belt.

Conveyor belt scale system

An apparatus for attaching sensors to rotating shafts on equipment includes a cup magnet and a housing for receiving the cup magnet. A target rotor is displaced within the housing which rotates when attached to a rotating shaft for the purpose of sensing the shaft rotation. Alternately, the cup magnet may be permanently attached to a rotating couple rather than a non-rotating housing. A preferred embodiment may have a dust cover.
