Methods and systems are provided for a dry silicone gel. The dry silicone gel comprises a base polymer having a vinylsilicone group, a crosslinker, and a chain extender. The dry silicone gel may be made by reacting (a) a first set of components comprising a base polymer having a vinylsilicone group and an addition cure catalyst with (b) a second set of components comprising a crosslinker, a chain extender, and additional base polymer. In certain circumstances, the base polymer and additional base polymer are vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

Dry silicone gels and their methods of making

Disclosed herein are various cable gel seal arrangements and thermoplastic gels useful therein. The thermoplastic gels are prepared from a composition including a styrene triblock copolymer, a styrene diblock copolymer, an oil extender, and an additive selected from poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide), a C9 resin, poly(alpha-methylstyrene), a coumarone-indene resin, and combinations thereof, wherein the additive has a Tfrom about 95&#xb0; C. to about 200&#xb0; C. The thermoplastic gels advantageously exhibit low compression set.

A device for a high-clearance motor vehicle is provided. Preferably, the device comprises a linear actuator, a hollow tube having a first helix and a second helix; a step arm connected at a distal end to the linear actuator such that when the linear actuator applies a linear force to the step arm, the step arm rotates. Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a cable sealing structure comprising a cable sealing body including a gel and methods of making anisotropic behavior in cable sealing structures made with a dry silicone gel. In one aspect, various three-dimensional printing techniques are used to make a cable sealing structure that includes a gel. The cable sealing body has a construction that elastically deforms to apply an elastic spring load to the gel. The cable sealing body has a construction with anisotropic deformation characteristics that allows the cable sealing body to be less deformable in one direction than in others. The cable sealing structure can be utilized to seal fiber optic cables more uniformly while limiting the potential of leakage.

Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to an alignment device that includes a groove-type alignment structure with a support region for receiving an optical fiber inserted along a fiber insertion axis. The optical fiber has a first side and a second, opposite side. The groove-type alignment structure engages the first side of the optical fiber. The alignment device includes a stabilization structure that engages the first side of the optical fiber and a first angled transition surface that engages the second, opposite side of the optical fiber. The present disclosure also relates to an alignment system that includes a first housing piece; a second housing piece adapted to mate with the first housing piece; and a flat structure positioned between the first and second housing pieces.

Methods and compositions are provided for preparation of thermoplastic gels. The compositions have a base composition including a thermoplastic gel and a softener oil and the gel has a hardness between 15 Shore 000 and 65 Shore 000. The gel may also include an additive, such as a mineral filler, an anti-tack agent, and a mixture of a mineral filler and an anti-tack agent. The softener oil may be a high molecular weight oil having a molecular weight greater than about 250 g/mol.

A telecommunications enclosure is provided with reliable sealing around cables entering therein. The enclosure includes one or more cable ports with cable seals made from a material that includes an oil-bleed silicone rubber. The cable ports may also have a convoluted or serrated inner surface configured to engage and support the cable seals.

A telecommunications apparatus may comprise a telecommunications component and a sealant that forms a seal with the telecommunications component. The sealant may comprise a sealant material having a first range of elongation followed by a second range of elongation.
