A method of operating a video gaming system having program instructions, the programming instructions comprising: providing each player with at least one individual flashboard having suit and value indicia and a game ending pattern outlined thereon; providing a plurality of bingo balls; randomly selecting a first group of bingo balls; displaying to each player the markings associated with each selected bingo ball of the first group of bingo balls; marking each square associated with each of the first group of bingo balls on each individual flashcard; selecting a second group of bingo balls, wherein a total number of bingo balls in the first group and the second group is equal to a least amount of balls needed to completely fill the game ending pattern; displaying to each player the markings associated with each selected bingo ball of the second group of bingo balls; and determining any winning flashboard.

Networked, electronic game tournament method and system

A bingo game and method in which bingo rules are used to simulate video poker and slot machine games. Players using linked terminals are assigned flashboards having multiple squares thereon, which squares have indicia thereon. If video poker is to be simulated, the indicia will be suit and value indicia of the type associated with playing cards. If slot machine play is to be simulated, the indicia will be of the like associated with slot machines, such as cherries, bars and bells. The calling of numbered bingo balls leads to the display to the player of corresponding indicia from numbered squares on the flashboard. A multiple overlapping ball draw may be utilized to accommodate slower and faster players, to allow overlapping games so that a slower player can have more time to play while a faster player can finish one game and commence another before the first game has closed. Where no player achieves a winning combination, an award can be provided based on a pre-determined value of indicia received by the player, including a near miss or a lowest hand. In one embodiment, the near-miss award may be paid from a progressive jackpot, to increase player excitement and to incentivize players to try for a near-miss hand.

Video bingo game and method

A bingo game in which bingo numbers are assigned to at least five different groups. The groups are preferably identified by color, and the size of the groups preferably vary, with the result that a bingo consisting of a combination of numbers from the smallest group will be harder to achieve than a bingo consisting of a combination of numbers from a larger group. The jackpot sizes will vary in relation to the difficulty of achieving a particular bingo. The group sizes are within certain preferred ranges, designed to minimize the risk of premature bingos and thus to increase jackpot size and player excitement. Preferably, image type indicia are also added to certain of the numbers, creating additional bingo combinations and jackpot opportunities.

Bingo game method

All of the possible keno numbers are displayed on an electronic reader board in the keno game room or on the electronic keno gaming machine. After each player has marked his keno ticket and prior to the start of drawing keno balls, an electronic random number generator is used to select a predetermined group of keno numbers to be 'red' numbers for that particular game. All of the other remaining keno numbers are 'white' numbers for that particular game of keno. When a player achieves a winning keno ticket, the player wins certain preestablished payouts depending upon whether the player has an all 'red' keno winning combination, an all 'white' winning keno combination or a 'mixed color' winning keno combination. A bonus jackpot feature can be also added to the method of play of keno. In one version of this bonus jackpot feature, the player wins the traditional keno payout for achieving a regular winning combination of matching numbers selected by the player. The player also wins a bonus jackpot amount if the player's matching numbers are all (or a high percentage) of the same color. In another version of this bonus jackpot feature, the player makes a separate, additional wager to be eligible for the bonus jackpot feature payouts. These bonus jackpot feature payouts can be flat amounts or progressive amounts. Progressive jackpot pools can be established for all 'red' winning keno combinations or all 'white' winning keno combinations or certain 'mixed' color winning keno combinations.

Keno game

Five decks of playing cards are shuffled together and used to deal five initial cards to a player. From these five initial cards, the player selects which cards to hold and which to discard. Replacement cards are then provided from the same five decks used to deal the initial five cards hand. A final five card hand is analyzed to determine the card combinations and, if the player has achieved one of the preselected winning combinations, the player receives an award. Because of the unique combination of five decks of playing cards, very high awards can be paid of certain winning combinations, such as five of a kind of the same card such as five Aces of Spades. Each of the five decks consists of a standard fifty-two card deck of cards having an Ace through Deuce of each suit of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs resulting in a combined deck of 260 cards. Alternatively, each of the five deck can consist of a standard fifty-three card deck of cards having an Ace through Deuce of each suit of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs plus a Joker resulting in a combined deck of 265 cards.

Method of playing

All of the possible bingo numbers are displayed on an electronic reader board in the bingo game room. At the beginning of each game, an electronic random number generator selects a predetermined group of bingo numbers to be 'blue' numbers, 'green' numbers and 'red' numbers. All of the other remaining numbers are 'yellow' numbers for that particular game of bingo. When a player achieves a bingo, the player wins certain preestablished payouts depending upon whether the player has an all 'blue' bingo, an all 'green' bingo, an all 'red' bingo, an all 'yellow' bingo or any other bingo (which would be a 'mixed color' bingo). The all 'blue' bingo receives the highest payout, the all 'green' bingo receives the next highest payout, the all 'red' bingo receives the next highest payout, the all 'yellow' bingo receives the next highest payout and the smallest payout is awarded to a regular 'mixed color' bingo. A progressive feature can be added to the method of play of bingo in which the player makes a separate, additional wager to be eligible for the progressive jackpot payouts. Progressive jackpot pools can be established for an all 'blue' bingo, an all 'green' bingo, an all 'red' bingo, an all 'yellow' bingo or even for a 'case' bingo. 'Case' bingos are those in which a player has missed a bingo by one number. The 'case' bingo is a 'near miss' bingo and a jackpot pool can be used to pay those players who almost won.

A bingo card is provided having a matrix of seven columns and seven rows. Play is conducted according to the conventional manner of play of bingo, but using the seven-by-seven matrix. Because the size of the matrix has been increased, additional winning combinations are available and players can be paid for being the first player to achieve a four spot bingo, a five spot bingo, a six spot bingo, a seven spot bingo and so forth. This permits multiple winners during each round of the game of bingo and the amount of the payouts can be based on the relative difficulty of obtaining each type of winning combination. An alternative bingo card and method of play includes the designation of the sixth and seventh row and the sixth and seventh column of the seven-by-seven bingo card as distinctly demarcated sections of the bingo card, for example by using a different color or colors for these rows and columns. Players achieving a winning combination in certain specified sections of the bingo card could be paid varying amount as the payout. A progressive feature can be added to the method of play of bingo in which the player makes a separate, additional wager to be eligible for the progressive jackpot payout.
