In one aspect the present invention relates to a method of making an encapsulated electrically energized device, the method comprising: providing a first layer and a second layer each independently comprising a copolyester, a polycarbonate, a polyacrylate, polycarbonate/polyester miscible blends, or mixtures thereof, providing the electrically energized between the first and second layer, thermocompressively fusing the first layer and the second layer to encapsulate the electrically energized device by applying pressure at a temperature, sufficient to form the article, to a perimeter of the surface of the first and second layers, wherein the perimeter does not overlap the electrically energized device, wherein the temperature at the interface of the first and second layers is equal to or greater than Tg of the first layer and the second layer, and wherein the polyester layers have a flow during encapsulation less than the flow that induces fractures in the electrically energized device.

Encapsulation of electrically energized articles

A security vehicle having a main frame suspended on four wheels. A first support deck positioned on said main frame. The wheels at one end of the main frame being driven and wheels at the front end of the main frame being steerable. A drive train is mounted on said main frame and connected to the driven wheels. The drive train is located along a central longitudinal axis of the frame and at the center of the length of the distance between a front and a rear axle. A platform is mounted to the main frame at a level substantially above the first deck and connected to the first deck. Two seats are mounted on the platform. Vehicle controls are mounted on the platform adjacent the seats. Stairs are mounted to the first deck and the platform to allow access to the platform.

Disclosed is a process for the efficient removal of carbon dioxide from a gas recycle system generated in an epoxidation process wherein 1,3-butadiene is selectively oxidized to 3,4-epoxy-1-butene. Carbon dioxide at low partial pressure is absorbed into an alkanolamine solution from a low pressure recycle gas stream containing high levels of oxygen. Also disclosed is a means for reclaiming the alkanolamine from a solution of a carbon dioxide-alkanolamine salt or adduct formed in the carbon dioxide removal process.

Process for the removal of carbon dioxide from 3,4-epoxy-1-butene process recycle streams

Disclosed herein is an improved gas phase process for the selective epoxidation of non-allylic olefins wherein the epoxidation is carried out in the presence of one or more volatile, nitrogen-containing, basic compounds. The presence of a nitrogen-containing basic compound in the olefin-containing reaction gas or vapor suppresses the formation of an organic resinous material which coats the catalyst, thereby decreasing catalyst activity and life and also increases substantially the activity of the epoxidation catalyst. The disclosed process is particularly useful for the continuous manufacture of 3,4-epoxy-1-butene from 1,3-butadiene.

Gas phase process for the epoxidation of non-allylic olefins

Disclosed is an improved process for the preparation of alpha-tocopherol by the hydroxymethylation followed by the hydrogenation of non-.alpha.-tocopherols comprising .beta.-, .gamma.-, and .delta.-tocopherols using a particular palladium on alumina catalyst wherein (1) the dispersion and depth of deposition of the palladium metal are within certain ranges, and (2) the alumina is of a particular crystalline phase.
