There is disclosed a printing system, with a memory, and a plurality of document processing related subsystems The printing system, which is adapted to receive a facsimile document via a network, includes a facsimile user profile stored in a memory of the printing system. The facsimile user profile includes one or more attribute sets with each attribute set, along with a corresponding set of attribute values, defining a manner in which a portion of the facsimile document is to be processed at a printing subsystem. The printing system further includes a facsimile processing subsystem for reading the facsimile user profile to determine whether a selected one of the plurality of document processing related subsystems is enabled to process the portion of the facsimile document in accordance with one of the one or more attribute sets if the facsimile user profile. In practice, the portion of the facsimile document is processed with the selected one of the plurality of document processing related subsystems when it is determined, with the facsimile processing subsystem, that the selected one of the plurality of document processing related subsystems is enabled to process the portion of the facsimile document in accordance with the facsimile user profile.

System for printing facsimile jobs with a property profile

A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a plurality of jobs are placed in a queue in anticipation of processing the same. The queue, over time, receives jobs of at least a first user type and a second user type. In operation, first and second jobs of the first user type are placed in the queue. When a third job is ready for placement into the queue, a determination as to whether the third job is of the first user type or the second user type is made. If the third job is of the first user type, then it is processed subsequent to the processing of both the first and second jobs; however, if the third job is of the second user type, then the third job is processed ahead of at least the second job.

Multifunctional printing system with queue management

A grey image value expansion method or system enables a receiving system to convert image data having a lower bit resolution to the higher native bit resolution of the receiving system. The conversion or expansion produces a new pixel byte which is a compilation of the received pixel byte wherein the received pixel byte has been repeated at least two times in the compilation. More specifically, a pixel byte having a bit resolution equal to A is converted to a new pixel byte having a bit resolution equal to B wherein the new pixel byte is a compilation of the received pixel byte. The received pixel byte is a unit of the new pixel byte such that the received pixel byte is repeated N times in the compilation wherein N being an integer equal to or greater than two. The number of repeating received pixel byte can be varied so long as N times A is less than or equal to B.

System and method for grey value expansion of pixel data

A method is provided for a multifunctional printing system in which a first job, developed at a first service, and a second job, developed at a second service are placed in a queue for processing. A first value is assigned to the first job and a second value is assigned to the second job, with the first and second values varying in magnitude as a function of the first and second services. In practice, the first job is placed in the queue and a portion thereof is processed. Subsequently, the second job is placed in the queue and processing of the first job is interrupted by the second job if the second value is greater in magnitude than the first value.

A method and system for printing a transmitted document having a cover page. The system determines if a present state of operation is a duplex mode and if a cover page has been transmitted. The system then prints, when the present state of operation is determined to be duplex and a cover page has been transmitted, the cover page as a simplex document and the remaining portion as a duplex document. On the other hand, the system prints the cover page and remaining portion of the transmitted document as a simplex document when it is determined that the present state of operation is a simplex mode.
