A rotating airfoil including a body and a vibration absorber located within the body. The body has a root end and a tip. The rotating airfoil has a natural frequency, and the vibration absorber has a natural frequency. The natural frequency of the vibration absorber is different than the natural frequency of the rotating airfoil.

Rotating airfoil assembly

A fan assembly for an engine includes a fan disk, fan disk inserts, and fan blades. The fan disk includes disk posts extending in a radial direction from a central region of the fan disk. The disk posts include disk post pressure surfaces that define a first array of dovetail recesses. The fan disk inserts are retained within the first array of dovetail recesses. The fan disk inserts include fan disk insert pressure surfaces that define a second array of dovetail recesses. The fan blades are retained within the second array of dovetail recesses.

An engine for an aircraft. The engine includes a rotating airfoil assembly, at least one actuator, a torque producing system, and a controller. The rotating airfoil assembly includes a rotation axis and a plurality of rotating airfoils configured to rotate about the rotation axis in a plane of rotation. The at least one actuator is operable to change the plane of rotation of the plurality of rotating airfoils. The torque producing system is coupled to the rotating airfoil assembly and configured to rotate the rotating airfoil assembly about the rotation axis of the rotating airfoil assembly. The controller is configured to determine that the aircraft has an angle of attack and to operate the at least one actuator to change the plane of rotation of the plurality of rotating airfoils based on the angle of attack.

Rotating airfoil assembly for an aircraft engine

A rotor disk for a gas turbine engine includes disk posts extending in a radial direction from a disk body. Each of the disk posts includes an insert receiving slot extending axially through the disk post and a disk post pressure surface. Disk post inserts are assembled within the insert receiving slots of each of the disk posts. A blade is retained by disk post pressure surfaces of each of the disk posts.

An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a plate including an aperture, the airfoil disposed in the aperture, and a damper operatively coupled between the plate and a hub of the airfoil, the damper to transform flexural deflection of the airfoil to radial deflection of the plate.

Methods and apparatus to reduce deflection of an airfoil

A trailer is provided for removing a boat lift from a body of water. The trailer has a trailer body with a stationary axle at one end thereof. A lifting surface is movably positioned relative to the trailer body and is movable upwardly therefrom with a scissor lift. A pivoting axle assembly is provided on the trailer body so as to lift the wheels of the stationary axle to allow for the trailer to be moved within the boat lift. When the wheels of the stationary axle are lowered by raising the pivoting axle assembly, the lifting surface can then be moved upwardly so as to contact and lift the boat lift out of the body of water.
