A fish tank includes a first water chamber for providing living space for fish; a second water chamber in fluid connection with the first water chamber with a grating therebetween. The openings of the grating are sized to keep the first water chamber and the second water chamber fluidly connected but prevent fish or other aquatic animals from entering the second water chamber. In an embodiment, a one-way valve allows water to flow out of the second water chamber and prevents water from flowing back into the first water chamber. A removable syringe with a plunger, a barrel and an orifice is provided such that when the orifice is connected to the one-way valve means and the plunger is pulled out of the barrel, water in the second water chamber flows into the barrel of the removable syringe through the one-way valve means.

System for fish tank cleaning and method therefor

An aquarium including a first water chamber providing a habitat for aquatic species, a second water chamber, wherein the second water chamber is fluidly coupled to the first water chamber, and a third water chamber, wherein the third water chamber is fluidly coupled to the second water chamber. The aquarium also includes a water discharge arrangement housed at least partially within the third water chamber, wherein the water discharge arrangement includes a pump and a discharge outlet coupled to the pump such that water within the third water chamber may discharged from the discharge outlet, and further wherein the discharge outlet is selectively rotatable such that water may be discharged either a) into one of the first water chamber or the third water chamber, or b) out of the aquarium.

System and method for aquarium water removal

A combination night light and aquarium is disclosed having a bowl including a body portion, a bottom portion connected to the body portion, and a neck portion at a top of the bowl defining an opening at the top of the bowl, wherein the bottom portion is dimensioned to fit on the central portion when the bowl is placed on top of the base; a lid dimensioned to fit over the first opening at the top of the bowl, wherein the lid includes an inner edge portion defining an opening through the lid; and a hollow member removably or fixedly attached to the lid, the member extending into the bowl and dimensioned to receive light emitted by the one or more lighting elements when the lid is placed on top of the bowl.

The disclosed embodiments include an aquarium having a non-disruptive filtration system. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a tank having a closed end and an open end, a lid removably positioned over the open end, and filter housing including a sidewall that, when fixedly position within the tank, encloses a first portion of the tank. Inlets in the sidewall maintain fluid communication between the first portion of the tank and a second portion of the tank. The filter housing includes a filter cartridge partitioning the enclosed first portion into a first chamber from a second chamber, a pump disposed within the second chamber, and a reservoir disposed within the second chamber at a distal end of the filter housing. The reservoir is connected to the pump across an elongated tube, and includes discharge lip across which pumped water discharges into the tank.

The disclosed embodiments include an aquarium having a low-current filtration system. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a tank having a closed end and an open end, a base that receives and supports the closed end, and a lid removably positioned over the open end. The apparatus also includes a filter base disposed onto an interior surface of the closed end, and a filter housing that engages a housing support structure disposed onto the filter base. The filter housing includes a filter cartridge separating a first chamber from a second chamber, a pump disposed within the second chamber, and a reservoir disposed within the second chamber at a distal end of the filter housing. The reservoir includes an outlet structure having multiple discharge locations, and is connected to the pump across an elongated tube.
