The disclosure is directed to techniques for tracking data associated with a creping process. The techniques include measuring process data, wherein the process data includes vibration data, and wherein measuring process data includes measuring vibration data of a creping blade using one or more vibration sensors. The techniques further include assigning a score for the process data, including assigning a vibration score for the vibration data. The techniques also include generating an index score based on the score for the process data and the vibration score for the vibration data.

Creping process performance tracking and control

Methods and compositions useful in papermaking and tissuemaking applications are provided. Some embodiments of the methods and compositions include a polyaminoamide polymer functionalized with an acrylamidophenyl boronic acid and a crosslinked polyaminoamide functionalized with an acrylamidophenyl boronic acid. The methods and compositions provide useful properties for creping that include good adhesion even under excessively wet conditions, improved film uniformity, and good film durability, while maintaining good film softness and rewettability necessary for efficient runnability of the tissue machine.

Vibration sensors can be used in paper making systems and methods to determine various aspects of the paper making operation. Vibration sensors, for example, positioned on cleaning blades configured to clean various deposits off of rollers in a paper making system can output vibration data that can be indicative of the vibration of the blade. The vibration data can be analyzed in order to characterize the cause of the vibration and/or the location of the vibration within a paper making system. If the vibration data satisfies a predetermined condition, a corrective action can be initiated. Different corrective actions can be initiated based on the characterized cause and/or location of the vibration in order to effectively improve the operation of the system while minimizing costly system shut downs and major maintenance.

The methods and compositions comprise alkyl ether sulfate and ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer. An inventive composition and method of its use softens paper products (like tissue paper) by de-bonding its cellulose fibers and by improving the smoothness of the resulting paper. The invention forms a surfactant-polymer complex that attaches de-bonding non-ionic surfactants to cellulose fibers that would otherwise not be retained by the cellulose fibers. This complex prevents the fibers from bonding with each other and makes the paper product smoother. Best of all, the composition is environmentally superior and is a non-toxic.

The composition of matter comprises an adhesive composition that includes a glycerol-based polyol. The glycerol-based polyol prevents the composition from becoming brittle and is non-volatile. This allows the composition to become rewetted after creping and allows for strong levels of adhesion even at high temperatures.
