Disclosed is a flame retardant electrical cable able to meet or exceed the flame spread requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Tunnel Flame UL 910 while minimizing or eliminating halogen, particularly fluorine content from the cable by utilizing a first non-fluocarbon polymer and compositions based thereupon for use in making one of the conductor insulation or the protective jacket of the cable and a second non-fluorocarbon polymer or fluorocarbon polymer which may be the same as or different from the first polymer and compositions based thereupon for use in making the other of the conductor insulation or the jacket of the cable where the first and second polymers and compositions based thereupon have a composite Steiner Index of: ##EQU1## where: S.I. is less than about 3500;

Flame retardent electrical cable

Disclosed is a conduit sealing connector that may be made from metal or a heat stable polymeric material that is adapted to secure at least two conduits together that also may be made from a metallic or heat stable polymeric material. The connector is provided with a sleeve having a chamber therewithin containing an expandable material which upon heating the connector after is is secured to the conduits is able to expand and engulf any electrical conductors and/or cables extending through the connector between the conduits and fill the chamber sufficiently to provide a barrier against the flow of vapor through the conduits.

Conduit sealing connector

Disclosed is contractible conduit sealing connector that features an expanded sleeve made from a heat recoverable metallic material which when exposed to a sufficient amount of heat is able to contract and secure at least two conduits together while at the same time enabling an expandable material contained within a chamber of the sleeve to expand and engulf any electrical conductors and/or cables extending through the connector between the conduits and fill the chamber sufficiently to provide a barrier against the flow of vapor through the conduits.

Contractible conduit sealing connector

A compact one-piece shrinkable sleeve of minimal outside diameter made from either a resilient material or a heat shrinkable material having elastic memory and adapted to be secured to the end of an electrical cable and/or tubing bundle having one or more electrical conductors and/or tubes extending therefrom to provide a barrier to the flow of gas or vapors therethrough. The sleeve contains a cavity at one end thereof that when the sleeve is in an expanded state is adapted to receive the end of the bundle. The sleeve contains one or more internal channels at the opposite end thereof that are separated from each other by walls that are directly or indirectly integrally related to the wall of the remainder of the sleeve and are adapted to permit the one or more conductors and/or tubes to extend therethrough from the bundle end in the cavity.
