A monolithic integrated circuit that supports multiple industrial Ethernet protocols, fieldbus protocols, and industrial application processing, thereby providing a single hardware platform that may be used to build various automation devices/equipment implemented in an industrial network, such as controllers, field devices, network communication nodes, etc. The monolithic integrated circuit may comprise at least one application processor core operable to execute an industrial application and Ethernet connectivity/management code, including standard Ethernet connectivity/management code and industrial Ethernet connectivity/management code; a real time processing module configured to support a plurality of industrial Ethernet data link layers; an interface configured to be coupled to an external non volatile memory from which the at least one application processor is configured for execute in place processing; and on-chip RAM having a capacity sufficient to eliminate the need for external RAM in execution by the at least one application processor core of an operating system, the industrial application, and the Ethernet connectivity/management code.

Methods and systems are provided for preventing unauthorized communication with an end device on a network, the system comprising an external device and a communication device. The communication device includes an interface configured to be communicatively coupled to the external device, and being configured to receive access attempts from the external device, at least one of which being structured according to a respective communication protocol and being received from a respective communication zone, determine a group of used communication protocols, the group of used communication protocols including protocols according to which the access attempts are structured and being determined based on the respective communication zones of the access attempts, receive, from a first external device, an access attempt structured according to a protocol not in the group of communication protocols, and deny, responsive to determining that the protocol is not in the group of used communication protocols, the access attempt.

Systems and methods for preventing unauthorized communication with an end device on a communication network

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system includes a processor, an input coupled to an AC power source to receive input AC power, a converter circuit coupled to the input and configured to convert an input AC voltage to a DC voltage, an energy-storage component, a load output configured to provide output power derived from the DC voltage, and a radio-frequency circuit configured to receive a radio-frequency signal. The radio-frequency circuit includes an antenna and a memory. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive configuration data including a first UPS identifier from a component of the radio-frequency circuit. The instructions further cause the processor to compare the first UPS identifier to a second UPS identifier stored on a memory of the UPS system. The instructions further cause the processor to configure operation of the UPS system based on the configuration data.

According to one aspect, a system for determining a location of a device is provided. According to one embodiment, the system comprises a management component, a plurality of microphones including a first microphone and a second microphone, at least one receiving component, the at least one receiving component coupled to the plurality of microphones and configured to receive signals from the plurality of microphones related to an acoustic signal detected by the plurality of microphones, determine a first timestamp of the acoustic signal using the signals received from the first microphone, determine a second timestamp of the acoustic signal using the signals received from the second microphone, and send the first timestamp and the second timestamp to the management component, the management component being configured to receive the first timestamp and the second timestamp and calculate the location of the device using the first timestamp and the second timestamp.

According to one aspect, embodiments of the invention provide a power supply system comprising an input line configured to receive input AC power, a rectifier having an input coupled to the input line and an output, a switch having a first end coupled to the output of the rectifier and a second end selectively coupled to an inductor, a capacitor coupled to the inductor, and control circuitry coupled to the inductor and the capacitor, wherein the control circuitry is configured to control the switch to selectively couple the output of the rectifier to the inductor to generate a first DC power level, operate in a first mode of operation while receiving the first DC power level, detect a phase angle of the rectified AC power, and transition into a second mode of operation in response to detection of the phase angle.

The at least one processor is configured to receive at least one network data packet from at least one network device in the mesh network; build a map of the mesh network including a representation of the at least one network device using information contained in the at least one network data packet; and display the map on a user interface. In some embodiments, the at least one network includes a plurality of network devices.

According to one aspect, embodiments herein provide a circuit breaker sensor for use in a panelboard including a plurality of circuit breakers, the circuit breaker sensor comprising a housing having a top portion and a bottom portion, a magnet coupled to the bottom portion and configured to magnetically couple the circuit breaker sensor to a surface of the panelboard, an accelerometer coupled to the magnet and configured to sample movement of the surface via the magnet; and a controller coupled to the accelerometer and configured to identify, based on the samples taken by the accelerometer, whether one of the plurality of circuit breakers in the panelboard has tripped.

The method includes detecting whether a device is connected to the USB port, based on the detection, receiving, at the UPS, information from the device; determining whether the device is configured as a host device supplying power, a host device requiring power or a peripheral device, and based on the determination, configuring the USB port of the UPS.

A method of commissioning wireless network devices in a communication network includes assigning a user-defined number to a wireless network device. The method further includes generating, by the wireless network device, an identification number based on the user-defined number using a first hashing algorithm, generating, by the wireless network device, an encryption key based on the user-defined number using a second hashing algorithm, and transmitting, by the wireless network device, a message that is encrypted using the encryption key for joining the wireless network device to the communication network. The user-defined number is to be provided by a user using an input device that is coupled to, or integral to, the wireless network device.

An airflow detecting device includes a pivot rod, a first vane portion hingedly secured to the pivot rod and a second vane portion hingedly secured to the pivot rod. The airflow detecting device further includes a sensor assembly coupled to the first vane portion and the second vane portion. The sensor assembly generates a signal when the one of the first vane portion and the second vane portion is moved relative to the other of the second vane portion and the first vane portion when effected by airflow. The airflow detecting device further includes a control module secured to the pivot rod and coupled to the sensor assembly to receive the signal from the sensor assembly. The control module is configured to determine the direction and the amount of airflow based on the signal from the sensor assembly. Other embodiments of airflow detecting devices are further disclosed.
