The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring assembly that includes a wall plate cover, a housing portion and an electro-optical assembly coupled to a plurality of wiring terminations. The assembly includes a circuit configured to provide an output signal in response to an external input signal. The assembly also includes a plurality of lighting elements coupled to the circuit and configured to emit the plurality of light beams in response to the output signal. The electro-optical assembly further includes an ambient light sensor accessible to the ambient space via at least one of the plurality of openings. The ambient light sensor is configured to generate the at least one external input signal in response to an ambient light level in the ambient space, the ambient light sensor being substantially isolated from the plurality of light beams.

The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring device that includes at least one circuit configured to provide an output signal in response to at least one external input signal. The device further comprises a light emission and detection assembly that includes: a lamp sub-assembly coupled to the at least one circuit, the lamp subassembly including at least one light emitting element configured to emit light in response to the output signal; and an ambient light sensor sub-assembly coupled to the at least one circuit and including an ambient light sensor and a sensor housing assembly, the ambient light sensor being configured to generate the at least one external input signal in response to sensing an ambient light level in the space, the sensor housing assembly being configured to substantially isolate the ambient light sensor from the light emitted by the lamp sub-assembly.

The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring device that includes a frameless shutter assembly disposed in the front cover portion or in a separator member between the receptacle openings and the receptacle terminals. The frameless shutter assembly comprises a first shutter member and a second shutter member configured to move from a closed position to an open position when the hot and neutral blades of a plug blade set are simultaneously inserted into the receptacle openings to engage a set of receptacle terminals and remain closed otherwise. The present invention is directed to a power control wiring device that includes an electronic switch circuit that energizes the electrical load in accordance with a timing regulation signal. A timing regulation circuit includes a primary timing regulation circuit and an auxiliary timing regulation circuit. The device also includes an emission-detection assembly includes a lamp sub-assembly coupled to the at least one circuit. The lamp sub-assembly includes at least one light emitting element configured to emit light in response to the output signal. An ambient light sensor sub-assembly is coupled to the at least one circuit and includes an ambient light sensor and a sensor housing assembly. The ambient light sensor is configured to generate the at least one external input signal in response to an ambient light level in the space. The sensor housing assembly is configured to substantially isolate the ambient light sensor from the light emitted into the space.

An electrical wiring device includes a housing, and a circuit protection component and a light source operably mounted within the housing. In various aspects, the circuit protection component is a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) or an arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI). The light source can function to provide increased illumination in an environment surrounding the electrical wiring device (e.g., a darkened bathroom or a darkened kitchen), or to indicate the status of the circuit protection component (e.g., tripped or normal). The receptacle is configured to receive plug contact blades inserted therein. The reset mechanism includes a reset button and a reset actuator configured to reestablish electrical continuity between the first pair of hot contacts, the second pair of hot contacts, the first pair of neutral contacts, and the second pair of neutral contacts in response to a reset stimulus.
