A connector setup is disclosed where one connector can be blind mated to another connector. In a fixed panel, a connector is spring mounted upon the fixed panel such that the connector has freedom of movement in all directions. In addition, the springs are configured so as to provide enough force to mate the connector with a mating connector. Either connector can be mounted between guide pins. The corresponding connector would then be mounted between guide holes. When the module upon which one of the connectors is mounted is slid into the fixed panel, the guide pins interact with the guide holes so as to properly position the connectors in relation to each other. The springs, in addition to providing enough force to mate the connectors, also allows the connector on the panel to float within its mount, permitting the connector to be optimally positioned for mating purposes.

Spring-loaded connector setup for blind mating and method for using the same

The microwave frequency characteristics of a cavity having a center conducting element and conducting cavity are modified by changing the length of the center conducting element. The resonating structure is comprised of a coaxial member providing the principal resonating surfaces. One end of the coaxial member is coupled to a wall of the cavity surrounding the center conducting member with provision for access to the interior of the center conducting member from a position exterior to the cavity. The second end of the center conducting element is free. In addition, the second end of the resonating element has threads fabricated on an interior surface and a self-locking insert positioned in the threaded portion. A threaded rod is inserted through the self-locking insert and extends beyond the center conducting element into the cavity. The threaded rod has a structure on the end remaining inside the center conducting element that permits a tuning instrument, inserted from a position exterior to the cavity, to rotate the threaded rod against the force of the self-locking insert and, consequently vary the length of the rod extending beyond the cylindrical member.

The single cue of a pitch and roll flight director command indicator is driven by a mechanism having a pitch servomotor pivotally mounted in the flight director housing for rotation about the roll axis and a roll servomotor fixed to the housing for rotating the pitch servomotor about the roll axis. The single cue is connected to an arm which is pivotally mounted on the pitch motor for rotation about the pitch axis whereby the single cue may be simultaneously positioned in pitch and roll by said servomotors to provide visual commands for bringing the craft to a predetermined flight path of attitude.
