Distributed data analysis systems and methods are provided. A data broker distributes received data to consumers, such as information and repository consumers, which can be subscribed to the data. A subsystem with a processor for data processing can provide data to the data broker. A first information consumer may include a receiving module for receiving the data from the data broker, an analysis module for analyzing the received data to obtain a result, and a publication module for sending the result to the data broker when a second information consumer is subscribed to the result.

Systems and methods for handling multiple static query modules for distinct environments

A system and method for restructuring the physical storage of a table of a database. The records of the table are grouped into one or more partitions, each of which is stored in a file having a number of fixed sized blocks. Each of the blocks has a first format. Restructuring the physical storage of the table involves changing, to a second format, the format of the blocks of the file in which a partition of the table is stored. Additionally, control data that includes a catalog table and one or more file labels describing the partitions in which the records of the table are grouped, is altered to indicate that the blocks of a partition are enabled to be stored in the second format. Restructuring occurs in phases so as to minimize the inaccessibility of the table being restructured to updates.

Method for fault tolerant modification of data representation in a large database

An SQL program executor and an SOL compiler both include options for avoiding recompilations of execution plans whenever the runtime object and the compile time object referenced by an execution plan meet predefined schema similarity criteria. Thus, recompilation is sometimes avoided even though the compile time object has been altered or the run time object is not the same object as the compile time object. To enable late binding, schema information is stored in each execution plan for each object to be accessed by the execution plan. The stored schema information is a subset of the full object schema, and includes information about all the aspects of the objects to be accessed which must remain unchanged in order for the execution plan to be operable. While executing a compiled program, the SQL executor avoids recompilations of execution plans whenever the runtime object and the compile time object referenced by an execution plan meet predefined schema similarity criteria. When a recompilation of an SQL program is required, only the execution plans which do not meet the schema similarity criteria are recompiled if the compiled program has been assigned appropriate runtime parameters. The late binding features of the SQL executor also enable a compiled program to access objects distinct from the objects referenced by the program at compile time. Similarly, the SQL compiler includes the ability to recompile only those execution plans which do not meet the schema similarity criteria and thus are inoperable.
