An annular restrictor for use in a well can include a body which extends circumferentially about a tubular mandrel, and a section which, in cooperation with the body, restricts fluid flow through an annulus, a line being secured between the body and the section. A method of completing a well can include installing a line in an annular restrictor, and restricting fluid flow through an annulus, with the restricting being performed by the annular restrictor interconnected between steam injection valves. A method of attaching a line to a tubular string for use in a well can include covering the line with a section of an annular restrictor, and securing the section to a body of the annular restrictor, each of the section and the body having a flow restricting surface formed thereon, and the covering and securing steps being performed without splicing or making a connection in the line.

Installation of lines in high temperature wellbore environments

A downhole packer assembly for steam injection and casing pressure testing. The downhole packer assembly includes a housing assembly having intake and discharge ports. A seal assembly is positioned around the housing assembly between the intake and discharge ports and is operable to provide a fluid seal with a casing string. A mandrel is positioned within the housing assembly forming a micro annulus therewith and providing an internal pathway for fluid production therethrough. A valve assembly is disposed between the housing assembly and the mandrel and is operable between closed and open positions by a piston assembly such that the intake and discharge ports and the micro annulus provide a bypass passageway for steam injection around the seal assembly when the valve assembly is open and the seal assembly provides a downhole surface for pressure testing of the casing string uphole thereof when the valve assembly is closed.

Downhole packer assembly having a selective fluid bypass and method for use thereof

An anchor tool having a housing, a one-way restrictor device in fluid communication with the housing, and a stabilizer affixed to the housing. The one-way restrictor device is configured to allow restricted flow in a first direction, and to allow flow in a second direction.

Process and apparatus to improve reliability of pinpoint stimulation operations

An apparatus for reverse circulation cementing of surface casing in subterranean formations and associated methods are provided. One example of a method may involve a method of reverse circulation cementing a surface casing in a well bore with a conductor casing positioned therein comprising: providing a tool comprising at least one isolation device coupled to the surface casing; positioning the isolation device in the well bore to isolate an annulus between the surface casing and the conductor casing; flowing cement through a port in the conductor casing in a reverse circulation direction; and allowing the cement to set therein.

Reverse-circulation cementing of surface casing

A well packer assembly with an annular fluid bypass and a check valve. The well packer assembly has an upper packer apparatus and a lower packer apparatus with a stimulation port therebetween. An annular fluid bypass in the upper packer apparatus communicates the well annulus from above packer elements on the upper packer apparatus to below the packer elements. The well fluid circulated through the fluid bypass is discharged into the well annulus below the packer elements on the upper packer apparatus to circulate stimulation fluid through the stimulation port and upwardly through the upper packer apparatus and the tubing used to lower the upper packer apparatus into the well.

Packer apparatus with annular check valve

A packer with an equalizing valve for automatically equalizing the pressure above and below the packer element. The packer comprises a housing having an equalizing valve disposed therein. A packer element is disposed about the housing for sealingly engaging the wellbore. An equalizing valve is disposed in the housing and seals the housing to prevent flow therethrough when the packer element is actuated to engage the wellbore. The valve is movable in the closed position wherein communication through the housing is prevented to an open position so that the portion of the wellbore above the packer element may be communicated with a portion of the wellbore below the packer element while the element is in the set position so that pressure above and below the element may be equalized. Once the pressure is equalized, the packer can be unset and retrieved from the wellbore.
