A fluid coupling includes a first coupling member, a second coupling member configured for connection with the first coupling member, and a sleeve disposed at least partially around the first coupling member and/or the second coupling member. In embodiments, the sleeve may include a first flame-retardant layer, a second flame-retardant layer, a third flame-retardant layer, and at least one reinforcement of a non-rubber, rigid material.

Fluid coupling and sleeve therefor

A fluid coupling may comprise a first assembly, a second assembly and a retainer. The first assembly may include first ratchet teeth and a body with external threads. The second assembly may include second ratchet teeth and a nut with internal threads. The second ratchet teeth may be configured to engage the first ratchet teeth. The internal threads may be configured to engage the external threads. The retainer may include at least one floating lobe configured to be positioned between the external and internal threads. At least one floating lobe may include first and second lobes, which may have a semi-circular structure and may be configured in a ring configuration. In embodiments, the second assembly includes a valve sleeve; a seal is disposed between the body and valve sleeve; and, upon connection, a sealing surface angle is provided between a portion of the body and a portion of the sleeve.

Quick disconnect fitting

A fluid coupling includes a first adapter, a second adapter, an inner sleeve connected to the first adapter and the second adapter, a nut connected to the first adapter and the second adapter, a sealing member connected to one of the first adapter and the second adapter, and/or an outer sleeve connected to the nut. The outer sleeve may include a chamber provided between an inner wall of the outer sleeve and an outer wall of the outer sleeve.

Fluid coupling

A valve guide for a coupling including a circular, longitudinally extending portion, including a substantially circular channel extending therethrough; a ring portion; a plurality of ports radially disposed around a centerline of the valve guide; and one of more collar supports disposed radially about the circular, longitudinally extending portion. The valve guide comprises a unitary one-piece component. A male portion for a coupling that includes a valve guide with integral assembly support and a method for assembling a coupling assembly are also disclosed.

A fluid coupling including a first adapter, a second adapter configured to selectively connect with and disconnect from the male adapter, an inner sleeve, a first seal between the first adapter and the inner sleeve, a second seal between the second adapter and the inner sleeve, and at least one thermally-activated seal between two of the first adapter, the second adapter, and the inner sleeve. During normal operation, the at least one thermally-activated seal may be spaced apart from at least one of the two of the first adapter, the second adapter, and the inner sleeve. At or above a predetermined temperature, the thermally-activated seal may be configured to expand to create a seal between the two of the first adapter, the second adapter, and the sleeve.

A quick disconnect coupling can include a first part and a second part. The first part can define a primary fluid passageway and a secondary fluid passageway and can include a first valve movable between open and closed positions to control flow through the first part secondary fluid passageway. The second part can define a second part defining a primary fluid passageway and a secondary fluid passageway and can include a second valve movable between open and closed positions to control flow through the second part secondary fluid passageway. In one aspect, the second part is removably connectable to the first part such that, when connected the first and second part primary passageways are placed in fluid communication with each other and the first and second valves are operable between the open and closed positions to selectively place the secondary fluid passageways of the first and second parts in fluid communication with each other.

Quick disconnect coupling with internal valves

A coupling assembly () is provided that includes a first coupling member (), a second coupling member () configured to selectively connect with and disconnect from the first coupling member, a locking sleeve () configured to selectively release the first coupling member from the second coupling member; and a layered flame retardant structure (). The layered flame retardant structure () may include a first flame retardant layer (), a generally cylindrical sleeve () that extends over the first flame retardant layer, and a second flame retardant layer () that extends over a substantial portion of the generally cylindrical sleeve. In embodiments, the generally cylindrical sleeve () and the second flame retardant layer () may overhang the locking sleeve ().

Fireproof quick disconnect coupling assembly

A releasable coupling assembly for connecting two members is provided that includes a first member having an exterior surface with a receiving portion and a second member having a hose adapter and a sleeve valve positioned within the adapter. The sleeve valve is in slidable communication with the adapter and includes at least one socket aperture that includes a mating ball that contacts at least one longitudinal groove in the adapter that includes a first and expanded radial portion. When the members are secured together, the ball of the sleeve valve is retained in the receiving formation of the first member by the first radial portion of the longitudinal groove of the hose adapter. When the members are pulled apart for disconnection, the sleeve valve initially remains engaged with the first member until the ball comes into contact with the expanded radial portion of the longitudinal groove of the hose adapter and the ball departs the receiving formation of the first member, such that the valve is completely or almost completely closed prior to disconnection of the members.

Releasable coupling assembly

A noise suppressor device for absorbing pulsating fluids is disclosed. A noise suppressor device has a housing which defines an axially extending bore. A resilient bladder is coaxially positioned in the bore. A spool assembly is coaxially positioned within the bladder. The spool assembly has an inner spool layer and an outer spool layer which coaxially surrounds the inner spool layer. The inner spool layer and outer spool layers each define a plurality of perforations extending therethrough. The perforations in the outer spool layer are offset from the perforations in the inner spool layer such that a direct line of sight through the first perforations and second perforations is prevented.

Noise suppressor

A coupling utilizes a male member having an internal poppet valve yieldingly urged to a closed position and an external ball retention sleeve yieldingly urged toward its connector end engageable with a female member. The female member has an internal poppet valve yieldingly urged to a closed position and a forward connector end wall section having a plurality of apertures in which are positioned balls for engaging an annular groove of the male member. The female member includes a retainer for preventing the balls from falling outwardly from the apertures.

Coupling latch

An improved marine drain valve is disclosed. The valve includes a valve barrel having an intake opening and a discharge opening. A fluid passageway extends between the openings. A valve adaptor body surrounds the valve barrel and a torsion-compression spring is positioned between and attached to the valve barrel and the adaptor body. A vent passageway is defined by the valve for venting a reservoir to which the valve is attached. An operating pin extends outwardly from the valve barrel and is received for movement in a configured slot defined by the adaptor body. The slot has a first leg parallel to the valve barrel and a second leg extending perpendicular to the first leg. The spring urges the valve toward a nonoperating or locked position. To operate the marine drain valve, a user rotates the operating pin and forces it upwardly into the first leg of the slot thereby opening the valve. Upon release, the spring returns the operating pin to the locked position.

Marine drain valve

A fluid actuated ball check valve assembly having an annular housing containing a ball valve. The annular housing has a first end and a second end. The annular housing defines a fluid passageway having a passageway axis extending therethrough. A fluid actuated ball valve is pivotally mounted in the fluid passageway. The ball valve defines a bore having a bore extending therethrough. Resilient members, such as a sleeve in contact with a coiled spring, engage the ball valve to maintain the ball valve in the fluid passageway. Pressurized fluid in the fluid passageway at the first end of the annular housing causes the ball valve to pivot from a closed position to an open position to allow fluid to flow through the fluid passageway from the first end to the second end of the annular housing. When pressurized fluid is not acting upon the ball valve at the first end of the annular housing and the ball valve is maintained in a closed position, fluid is prevented from flowing through the fluid passageway from the second end to the first end of the annular housing.

Fluid actuated ball check valve assembly

A quick connect coupling for joining opposing ends of a fluid flow line includes a sleeve member and a body member sized to be received in the open engagement end of the sleeve member. The sleeve member has resilient, laterally displaceable fingers joined at one end and tapering inwardly toward the axis in cantilever fashion to free ends. Upon insertion of the body member in the sleeve member, the body member contacts the fingers and urges the cantilevered portions including the free ends outwardly. Upon complete insertion, the free ends snap inwardly to engage shoulders of the body member. The body member has a series of camming faces adjacent each shoulder. The sleeve is rotatable about the body member to displace the free ends of the fingers outwardly and to align such fingers with portions of the body member away from such shoulders to thereby release the body member from the sleeve member.
