A two piece, molded tap is contemplated. The tap is includes a T-shaped body with a rotatable cap serving as a valve element. Camming means are provided on opposing but concealed faces of the cap to enable the smooth and easy rotation of the cap between open and closed positions while rotating the cap less than one full revolution in comparison to the body which remains fixed to a flexible pouch or container.

Two piece, T-shaped dispensing tap and method of making same

A valve for a dispenser pump is carried on a circular post or tube of a pump body. A protruding, sealing flange is formed at one end, while the opposing end includes tapering ribs extend along the inner surface of the hollow, tubular valve. In function, the ribs facilitate the passage of make-up air between the inner surface and the post/tube.

Valve and gasket tolerant to pressure-differentials

A child-resistant closure having inner and outer caps cooperating as a nested shell is contemplated. Downward force applied to the closure engages a series of cooperating lugs and detents to engage the child resistant feature, while thinned walls and cooperating, ramped skirts on the shells' interfacing surfaces to improve the hoop strength along a predefined circumference to avoid stripping/disengagement of the threads on the closure and container neck. An optional tamper evident ring may also be provided, as well as a combustion resistant vent formed in the top panel of the inner shell.

A system for closing a container is contemplated. The system features an injection molded, polymeric funnel including an engagement flange and a connector piece attaching to a gripping ring. A closure body capable of sealing a container is also provided. The closure includes a pull tab to create an opening into which the funnel inlet may be received in a snap-fitting arrangement. The engagement flange and protrusions proximate to the end of the funnel inlet facilitate the snap fit, align the structure, and prevent over-insertion of the funnel into the interior volume of the container.

A foam-dispensing pump includes an actuator, a collar, a housing, an air piston, a liquid piston, a mesh element and an air valve structure. The collar is constructed and arranged for attachment to a liquid storage container and a portion of the actuator is received by the collar. The air piston is constructed and arranged to be moveable within the housing. The liquid piston is constructed and arranged to be moveable within the housing. The mesh element is constructed and arranged to receive air and liquid for the production of foam. The air valve structure includes an annular sleeve component which is assembled onto the liquid piston and a cooperating annular valve element which is received by the air piston.

Foam dispenser with reversible valve

A foamer for use in dispensing a liquid product with a foam consistency includes a top cap, a closure, a housing, an air-flow diaphragm, a mesh screen and a valve structure. The closure includes a portion which is received by the cap and these two (2) cooperate to define a foam outlet. The housing is assembled into the closure and the diaphragm is assembled into the housing. The mesh insert is positioned adjacent the foam outlet. The valve structure is provided in two (2) embodiments, one being a duckbill valve with a corresponding holder and the other being a metering valve with a corresponding holder.

Inverted squeeze foamer

A unitary funnel which is injection-molded is used for dispensing a flowable product, such as a fuel additive, into a receptacle provided with a normally-closed capless fitment. The funnel includes an inlet portion for receiving the flowable product, an inserting end portion for insertion into the capless fitment and a body portion having a tapered hollow interior and extending between the inlet portion and the inserting end portion. The inserting end portion includes a skirt which is constructed and arranged for proper engagement with the normally-closed capless fitment so as to open that capless fitment and allow the flowable product to be dispensed into the receptacle.

A closure assembly for a container including an internally-threaded annular flange, an externally-threaded closure plug that is received by the annular flange, and an annular gasket positioned between the annular flange and the closure plug for establishing a sealed interface. The container includes a container end panel that is formed over and around a portion of the annular flange and provides an inner axial wall that is positioned between the annular flange and the annular gasket. The clearance between the closing plug and the inner axial wall relative to the size of the annular gasket determines the degree of radial compression of the annular gasket as the plug is threaded into the flange. A radial lip of the plug is designed to contact an upper surface of the container end panel that is formed over the flange as a visual indication when the required tightening torque of the plug within the flange has been reached.

A vented closure assembly for a container, the container including a raised outlet defining a dispensing opening, includes a closure body having a nestable and extendable spout formed with a generally cylindrical section, a frustoconical section, and a transition region, including an invertible fold, located between these two sections. The generally cylindrical section defines an outlet opening and a threaded closing cap is assembled to the generally cylindrical section for closing off the outlet opening. A retainer is used for connecting the closure body to the raised outlet wall and the spout includes a thicker wall portion for enabling the closure body to maintain a selected orientation. A plurality of venting ears are used to help provide the venting capability.

A closure for a container opening according to one embodiment comprises a plug including a series of projections and being constructed and arranged to be received within the container opening and an overcap constructed and arranged for being attached to the plug so as to close off an interior of the plug and create an assembly. The projections being constructed and arranged for interfit with a specialized wrench socket for threadedly advancing the plug into the container opening.
