The presently disclosed technology is directed generally to unmanned vehicle systems and methods configured to satisfy a first set of export control regulations, such as those within the jurisdiction of one government entity or international body (e.g., the U.S. Department of Commerce) without falling within the purview of a second set of export control regulations, such as export control regulations within the jurisdiction of another government entity or international body (e.g., the U.S. Department of State). Through limited range of operation, limited payload types, limited capabilities, and tamper-proof or tamper-resistant features, embodiments of the unmanned vehicle system are designed to fall within the purview and under control of one agency and not within the purview and under control of another agency.

Controlled range and payload for unmanned vehicles, and associated systems and methods

Example air vehicle navigation systems and methods are described herein that utilize a Common Runtime Aircraft Intent Data Structure (CRAIDS). An example method includes determining an initial condition of a flight of an air vehicle, determining a flight constraint, determining, using a common runtime aircraft intent data structure (CRAIDS), an aircraft trajectory based on the initial condition and the flight constraint, and performing the determined aircraft trajectory during the flight of the air vehicle.

In one embodiment, a railroad scout vehicle system includes a scout vehicle and a processing unit. The scout vehicle may include at least two wheels configured to engage a set of railroad tracks, a motor mechanically coupled to at least one of the wheels, a speed controller, an electromagnetic sensor aimed at the set of railroad tracks, a positioning receiver, a local speed sensing device and a transceiver. The speed controller may be coupled to the motor and configured to control the speed of the scout vehicle in order to maintain an appropriate distance between the scout vehicle and a train traveling behind. The processing unit may be configured to transmit the track status information via the transceiver, receive train speed and position signals from the train via the transceiver.

Autonomous railroad monitoring and inspection device

A method of monitoring a space for armed and dangerous individuals comprises obtaining a series of digital images of the space via a first digital camera; detecting a series of ambient noise levels of the space via an electronic noise detecting device; processing the series of images; processing the series of ambient noise levels; checking for an armed and dangerous individual; and triggering an alarm signal. Processing the series of images may include comparing objects in a first image of the series of images to at least one predetermined weapon patterns; and comparing objects in the first image of the series of images to at least one predetermined human patterns. Processing the series of ambient noise levels may include determining an upper threshold noise level based on the series of ambient noise levels; and comparing a first ambient noise level to the upper threshold noise level.

Atomatic monitoring systems

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system for detecting and precisely measuring information content of one or more environmental conditions. The system may include a plurality of oscillator circuits that are coupled together. The coupling of the oscillator circuits generates an output signal having a pattern of amplitude and frequency. The pattern of amplitude and frequency changes as one or more values of the environmental condition(s) change.

Systems and methods for signal quantization

A facility implementing systems and/or methods for creating statistically significant signatures for targets of interest and using those signatures to identify and locate targets of interest within image data, such as an array of pixels, captured still images, video data, etc., is described. Embodiments of the facility generate statistically significant signatures based at least in part on series approximations (e.g., Fourier Series, Gram-Charlier Series) of image data. The disclosed techniques allow for a high degree of confidence in identifying and tracking targets of interest within visual data and are highly tolerant of translation and rotation in identifying objects using the statistically significant signatures.

A musical electronic lock 10 is provided to unlock a locking means 12. The musical electronic lock 10 comprises a digital tone generation circuit 20 and memory 18 for electronically producing a musical melody while an electronic logic circuit 16 decodes responses from a user. Responses are compared by the electronic logic circuit 16 with an electronically stored combination and timing information in the memory 18. When successfully operated, the user will activate a switch or switches 24 in a key input unit 14 to input a confidential alphameric code when prompted by particular notes of an electronically synthesized musical melody or other sequenc of audible tones generated by a speaker 22. The necessary information to operate the musical electronic lock 10 is significantly more difficult to disseminate than conventional combinations yet it is is far simpler to operate, due to the easy to remember musical melody.
