A jaw for use in a drill chuck having a longitudinal center axis, comprising a chuck body which includes a jaw face formed on an inner surface of the chuck body and a plurality of teeth formed on an outer surface of the chuck body, the jaw face being substantially parallel to the longitudinal center axis. A ridge depends inwardly from the jaw face toward the longitudinal center axis. The ridge includes a tool engaging surface that is substantially parallel to the longitudinal center axis and has a width of between 0.020 to 0.060 inches.

Locking chuck jaws

A process for transforming unused motor vehicle headliner or headliner edges into a bonded composite that can be used in motor vehicles. Unused motor headliner or headliner edges are combined with binder to create a bondable mixture. The bondable mixture is exposed to heat causing the binder to melt to create the bonded composite.

Process for transforming headliner

A chuck for a driver having a rotatable drive shaft, the chuck having a cylindrical body member having a nose section and a tail section. A plurality of jaws is slidably positioned in the body, and each jaw has a jaw face and threads. A nut is rotatably mounted on the body in engagement with the jaw threads. A nut retainer member includes a first portion fixed to the body and a second portion engaging the nut. The chuck includes a plurality of recesses and a deflectable pawl biased toward and engaging the plurality of recesses. In a first state, one of the deflectable pawl and the plurality of recesses travels with the body and the other with the nut, and in a second state they travel together.

Chuck with torque indicator

A chuck has a generally cylindrical body having a nose section and a tail section, the tail section being configured to rotate with the drive shaft of a driver and the nose section having an axial bore formed therein. A plurality of jaws movably disposed with respect to the body and in communication with the axial bore. A nut rotatably mounted about the body and in operative communication with the jaws. A catch formed on one of the drive shaft and the chuck body that receives a lock body forward of and rotationally fixed to the driver housing. The lock body is moveable between a first unlocked position at which said chuck body is rotatable with respect to the driver housing and a second lock position at which said lock body engages said catch to rotationally lock said chuck body to the driver housing.

Chuck with spindle lock

A chuck for use with a manual or powered driver having a rotatable drive shaft, the chuck having a generally cylindrical body member having a nose section and a tail section. A plurality of jaws is slidably positioned in the body, and each jaw has a jaw face formed on one side thereof and threads formed on the opposite side. A nut is rotatably mounted on the body in engagement with the jaw threads so that rotation of the nut moves the jaws axially within the passageways. A tightening indicator having a first ring received operatively between the jaws and the body and a second ring rotationally coupled to and in operative engagement with the sleeve and the first ring. When the tightening indicator is in a first state, the first ring and the second ring are rotationally coupled to each other and the sleeve when the sleeve is rotated in the opening or closing directions, and when the tightening indicator is in a second state, the second ring rotates relative to the first ring in the closing direction but is rotationally fixed to the first ring in the opening direction.

A power driver includes a motor and a spindle having a distal end thereof opposite the motor. The distal end has an axial bore formed therein. A gear assembly is disposed operatively between the motor and the spindle so that the motor rotationally drives the spindle through the gear assembly. A grip is mounted in the spindle in communication with the axial bore. A driver is mounted about the spindle in operative communication with the grip so that activation of the driver in a closing direction moves the grip radially toward the axis and activation of the driver in an opening direction moves the grip radially away from the axis.

An article holding device for a cooler for removably positioning on a cooler for transportation items with the cooler. The article holding device for a cooler includes a top panel having a peripheral edge. A peripheral panel is attached to and extends along the peripheral edge such that a front panel, a back panel, and a pair of side panels are defined. The top panel is positionable on a cover of a cooler such that the peripheral panel generally covers walls of the cooler. A plurality of pockets is attached to the peripheral panel. Each of the pockets has an opening facing upwardly toward the top panel.

A chuck includes a generally cylindrical body, a plurality of jaws and a driving disk. A bearing includes a first race, a second race and a plurality of bearing elements disposed between the first race and the second race. The first race defines a plurality of recesses therein. One of the second race and the bearing elements is disposed in communication with the first race so that, when the jaws close onto a tool and the first race and the second race rotate relative to each other, the one of the second race and the bearing elements engages successive recesses.

A chuck includes a generally elongated body having a tail section configured to rotate with the drive shaft and a nose section having an axial bore formed therein. A plurality of jaws are movably disposed with respect to the body to and away from the axial bore. A collar in axially driving engagement with the jaws is axially movably disposed with respect to the body so that movement in a first axial direction drives the jaws toward the axis and movement in the opposite direction moves the jaws away from the axis. The collar is configured to receive at least one of the body and a shaft and defines a first surface that faces a second surface defined by the body or the shaft when the same is received by the collar. The first surface is tapered in the axial direction from a first end to a second end of the fist surface so that a first radial distance between the second surface and the first end is less than a second radial distance between the second surface and the second end. A rolling element is disposed between the first and second surfaces and defines a diameter greater than the first radial distance and less than the second radial distance. When an axial force is applied to the collar in the second axial direction, the rolling element wedges between the first and second surfaces.

A rotary power tool, such as a router, includes an actuating device engaged with a chuck device to move the chuck device between its gripping and release positions. The actuating device includes a lever member that extends axially relative to a casing of the power tool within an inner circumference of a base member. This lever member is movable relative to the casing and is engaged with the chuck so that movement of the lever is imparted to the chuck device causing the chuck device to move axially between its gripping and release positions.

Rotary power tool with remotely actuated chuck

A portable impact tool driver is removably attachable to a drive spindle or shaft of a conventional power tool. The impact tool driver has a body member with a drive shaft configured with the body member so as to be rotationally driven thereby. A hammer member is rotationally coupled to the drive shaft and is rotationally driven by the drive shaft. The hammer member is also axially movable along the drive shaft. The hammer has a first impact face configured thereon with at least two impact drivers defined on the impact face. A coupling drive mechanism is disposed between the drive shaft and the hammer member and imparts a rotational and longitudinal movement to the hammer member. An anvil member has a second impact face opposite the first impact face with an impact receiver configured thereon for periodic impacting engagement with the impacted drivers. The hammer member is rotationally driven by the drive shaft while simultaneously being moved axially back and forth relative to the drive shaft so that the impact drivers move into and out of rotational impacting engagement with the impact receivers defined on the anvil member.
