A hydro-mechanical transmission system. The system includes an engine having a drive shaft that extends into and supplies power to a gear box having a first and second planetary gear set, wherein the first and second planetary gear set includes a sun with a first ring gear fixed and a carrier coupled to the drive shaft through a double clutch, a hydraulic pump driven by the engine and hydraulically coupled to a hydraulic motor, a low pressure accumulator coupled to the motor and the pump, a high pressure accumulator coupled to the motor and the pump, wherein the hydraulic motor couples to the suns of both planetary gear sets, wherein the engine drives the carrier of the second planetary gear set with the ring of the second planetary gear set coupled to the drive shaft through a double clutch.

Hydro-mechanical transmission

The virtual vehicle transmission test cell includes an electric motor which simulates a fuel driven engine, an output motor which simulates the load a transmission experiences in a vehicle, and an environmental element which controls the ambient environment of the transmission and the temperature of the transmission oil within the transmission. The virtual vehicle transmission test cell reduces in-vehicle testing, reduces testing with fuel-driven test cells, and enables development of a transmission design before a corresponding engine is completed and built for testing.

A fluidic machine operable primarily as a pump or a fluid motor having primary and secondary vaned members hinged together within a spherical pump chamber to define four intake and exhaust spaces of varying volumes. A tracking mechanism which includes an annular raceway forces the secondary member to rotate about an oblique axis as the primary member rotates about a primary axis. Consequently, rotation of an input/output shaft extending from the primary member along the primary axis forces the secondary member to pivotally reciprocate between opposite extremes relative to the primary member, thereby increasing and decreasing the volumes of the spaces to produce a pumping action. The pump chamber is provided with four ports in positions which are coordinated with the tracking mechanism to ensure one port is in fluid communication with each space throughout each pivotal stroke of the secondary member. Reverse flow through the pump chamber conversely forces rotation of the primary member and its extending shaft to provide a fluid motor.

A vehicle suspension system that resiliently supports a suspended portion of a vehicle on a non-suspended portion while at the same time preventing pitch and roll that are caused by acceleration, deceleration and turning. The system includes a linear actuator such as a single-acting hydraulic cylinder interconnected through a control system with variable displacement pumps/motors and an accumulator. The accumulator is charged to apply enough pressure in the hydraulic system to support the suspended portion of the vehicle in static condition. The variable displacement pumps along with the controls sense the pressure changes occurring in the linear actuators to prevent movement thereby maintaining a normal, level position of the vehicle.

A spill sheet structure mounted to extend upwardly and forwardly from the rear wall of a loader bucket which is composed of a main single plate member with a central section that extends substantially the transverse width of the bucket and which is formed in a U-shaped configuration having front and rear spaced-apart walls with the front wall being in general continuation of the rear wall of the bucket and the rear wall of the central section extending behind the rear wall of the bucket and being formed so that its lower edge engages and is welded to the rear surface of the rear bucket wall. End sections of the main plate forming the spill sheet are at a level lower than the central section of the bucket so as to give visibility to an operator of the loader to determine whether the bucket is fully loaded.

The shaft-lever coupling means is comprised of two sections. The first section has a generally V-shaped cross-section configuration to receive a shaft between the interior walls of the first section, the shaft being secured between the interior wall by a bolt passed generally transversely through the first section and shaft, a mating nut being secured to the end of the bolt. A second section extends generally perpendicular to the first section having at least one hole sized to receive a lever.

A backhoe boom is pivotally connected to a swing frame for vertical movement relative thereto. A power extendable and retractable linkage is connected between the swing frame and the boom and includes a hydraulic actuator having one end pivotally connected to the boom and having its other end pivotally connected to respective first ends of a pair of links having respective second ends respectively pivotally connected to the boom and to the swing frame. The links make it possible for the actuator to position the boom in a raised transport position wherein a connection of an outer end of the boom with a dipperstick is located rearwardly of a transverse vertical plane extending through a connection of an inner end of the boom with the swing frame.

A first member includes a pair of parallel portions disposed on opposite sides of a second member and pivotally interconnected thereto by means of a pivot pin assembly including aligned holes in the parallel portions and the second member. The pivot assembly further includes a bushing received in the hole of the second member and a pin received in the bushing and in first and second collars respectively press fit into the holes in the pair of parallel portions. In a first embodiment the collars respectively act directly against first and second sets of Belleville springs received on the pin at the opposite ends of the bushing. In a second embodiment the collars respectively act against a pair of flat washers to hold the latter against the opposite sides of the second member and against the sets of Belleville washers. In a third embodiment the collars have a larger outside diameter than does the hole in the second member and the collars are positioned directly against the opposite sides of the second member and in engagement with the sets of Belleville washers.

A yoke-type pivot joint comprises a first member including a pair of parallel portions releasably fixed relative to each other and provided with holes which are axially aligned with each other and with a hole provided in a second member located between the parallel portions. A bushing is press fit into the hole of the second member and a pivot pin is received in the bushing and in the holes of the parallel portions. Received on the pin at opposite ends of the bushing are first and second pairs of opposed Belleville springs. One end of the pin is fixed to one of the parallel portions of the first member and a cap is fixed to the other parallel portion and is received on the other end of the pin. A cap screw extends through the cap into the pin and is operative for drawing the end of the pin against the cap and thereby effecting a predetermined compression of the springs at the ends of the bushing.

A yoke-type pivot joint includes a first member having a pair of parallel portions provided with holes which are axially aligned with each other and with a hole provided in a second member located between the parallel portions. A bushing is press fit into the hole in the second member and a pin is received in the bushing and in the holes in the parallel portions. First and second pairs of opposed Belleville spring seals are respectively located between the pair of parallel portions and the opposite end of the bushing. The parallel portions contain respective slots extending from the holes therein and fasteners are provided to clamp the slots together to thus clamp the parallel portions on the pin at selected locations for positioning the parallel portions for effecting compression of the Belleville springs.

A first member includes a pair of parallel portions disposed on opposite sides of a second member and pivotally interconnected thereto by means of a pivot pin assembly including aligned holes in the parallel portions and the second member. The pivot assembly further includes a bushing received in the hole in the second member and a pin received in the bushing and in the holes in the parallel portions. Received on one end of the pin and welded thereto to form an integral part thereof is a collar while a cap is secured over the other end of the pin by a cap screw. First and second flat washers are respectively received on the pin at the inner ends of the collar and cap and are held against opposite sides of the second member and against first and second pairs of opposed Belleville springs located at the opposite ends of the bushing.

A first member is disposed between and pivotally connected to a pair of spaced apart parallel portions of a second member through means of a pivot pin extending through axially aligned holes respectively located in the first member and in the parallel portions of the second member. The hole in the first member has a bushing located therein which is shorter than the hole, and first and second pairs of opposed Belleville springs are received on the pin and are respectively compressed into the hole at the opposite ends of and into sealing engagement with the opposite ends of the bushing through means of first and second pairs of wedge pieces respectively interposed between opposite sides of the first member and the parallel portions of the second member.
