A striker used between a vehicle component and a vehicle body member includes a homogenous polymeric striker body. The body includes a first portion having opposed first and second sides, and a raised mid-body between the first and second sides. A second portion is oriented at an angle with respect to the first portion. The second portion includes first and second mounting wings and a bumper receiving portion positioned between the mounting wings. A resilient bumper is engaged with the second portion extending partially over the inclined surface. The raised mid-body defines a substantially planar, inclined surface continuously increasing in elevation with respect to the first and second sides between a first portion free end and a first and second portion intersection. The second portion has at least one rectangular-shaped cavity created on a vehicle body engaging side adapted to non-rotatably receive a geometrically configured fastener.

Automobile vehicle striker assembly

A vehicle door wedge assembly has an elastomeric wedge connected to a first member, and a second member. A wedge perimeter wall has exterior facing and engagement portions, and an interior wall equidistantly spaced from the engagement portion. The interior and engagement walls define an interior cavity. The exterior facing wall deflects into the interior cavity during engagement of the first and second members.

A dampened slide for a wedge assembly includes a slide housing having perimeter walls. First and second alignment members connect to the perimeter walls, each having a deflectable portion. The deflectable portions extend opposite to each other and transverse to a centerline of the housing.

A vehicle error proof anti-chucking wedge assembly includes members having at least a first and optionally a second pin extending from an engagement side. The pins are positioned to limit installation of a right handed component to a first mating surface and a left handed component to a second mating surface of vehicle structure.

The preferred embodiment of a double ended fastening system includes a first segment for engaging a component and a second threaded segment for engaging a nut. In another aspect of the present invention, the component has a stud receiving portion made of a polymer or soft metal. A further aspect of the present invention provides a self-drilling and self-tapping feature on the stud.

The preferred embodiment of a double ended stud fastening system includes a first segment for engaging a plastic component, a second threaded segment for engaging a nut and a lateral projection disposed between the segments. In another aspect of the present invention, the first segment is threaded and the lateral projection is a flange.

Check strap

An integral strap assembly comprising a pair of end fasteners molded onto the ends of a nylon cable. The cable is made up of a round bundle of small individual extruded nylon strands enclosed in a sheath of braided nylon. The strap assembly is preferably used to check the motion of automobile glove box doors, station wagon tailgates, and the like.

Laterally opened vehicular doors are guided by a track assembly which is made up of a track and an end cap. The end cap has a fastener portion which cooperates with the track to positively secure the end cap to the track without the use of a screw. A cantilevered ramped locking tab is forced into a locating hole in the bottom of the track by a tension arm which is deflected by the top of the track. The locking tab engages a side wall of the hole to locate a post against the side of the vehicle.

A wedge assembly to be secured to a vehicle door to prevent door rattling during vehicle operation. A slide element is captured by a base plate and stops are provided to prevent inadvertent disassembly.
