A disk drive control system includes servo sectors written on a disk, with each sector containing three sets of marker pulses arranged so that three adjacent marker pulses from each of the sets spans two tracks. Positional control utilizes a function comprising a ratio whose denominator value represents the sum of the amplitudes of the two largest amplitude marker pulses detected by the read/write head while traversing a servo sector and who numerator represents the differences in amplitude between said two largest amplitude marker pulses.

Disk drive control system

A system and method for controlling the operation of a dc stepping motor utilized for positioning a read/write head on a magnetic data storage disk operates to selectively establish different magnetic field strengths on the core members of the stepping motor, thereby minimizing the time period required to stop the motor at precise, preselected positions.

Stepping motor control system

A device for dispensing the contents of collapsible tubes is provided having a carriage with compressor means adapted to engage both sides of the tube with valve means mounted at the base of the tube and operatively associated with tension means that continuously forces the compressor means downwardly along the tube and which tension means is automatically activated when the valve means is opened to permit a flow of the contents of the tube therethrough.
