A junction box for routing at least one power wire and at least one data wire through a duct system. The junction box includes a bottom wall, a side wall bounding the bottom wall, and a cover member spaced apart from the bottom wall and supported by the side wall. A first access port is disposed in the cover member and a second access port is disposed in the cover member and adjacent the first access port. A first access region receives the data wire and is disposed below the first access port. A second access region receives the power wire and is disposed below the second access port and is adjacent the first access region. The first access region is sectioned from the second access region such that the power wire is inaccessible from the first access region and the data wire is inaccessible from the second access region.

Sectional junction box

A cellular unit is disclosed for use in a wiring distribution system having at least two cellular units oriented in end to end abutting fashion. Each cellular unit includes a housing having a top structure and a bottom structure connected to one another. The top and bottom structures are adapted and configured to define elongated cells extending through the housing. The cells extend parallel to one another and have open ends at opposite ends of the housing. Structure is provided to extend horizontally outwardly from the housing parallel with the cells. The structure includes an outwardly extending portion engageable with an abutting cellular unit such that abutting ends of the cellular units form a butt joint. The outwardly extending portion extends across the butt joint to define at least one vertical side positioned between two laterally adjacent cells to prevent the ingress of wires at the butt joint from one of the laterally adjacent cells to the other laterally adjacent cell.

Cellular unit for use in a wiring distribution system

An electrical wiring distribution system adapted for securement with a metal floor structure is provided. The system includes a hatch structure secured to a cellular floor structure. The hatch structure has a housing having an interior portion therewithin and an open bottom end. The housing has opposed sidewalls disposed transverse to the enclosed metal cells and bottom portions extending downwardly in close adjacency with channelways of the floor structure to prevent ingress of concrete into the interior portion. The housing has a pair of side portions having edges forming an access opening in communication with the interior portion of the housing. A divider structure is provided in the interior portion of the housing for dividing the interior portion of the housing into at least a pair of sections. The housing has an upper flange defining a top access opening. A fire retardant member is provided which is sized and adapted for extending about the upper flange between the housing and a ring assembly removably secured to the housing. The ring assembly being adapted to receive a cover plate removably secured thereto. A generally rectangular shaped duct structure defines a raceway extending therethrough. The raceway has an inlet opening in communication with the access opening of the housing. Main power and communication lines extending through the floor structure are accessible through the hatch structure for extension in the duct structure.

Electrical floor hatch and wiring system for a concrete floor structure

The exhibition hall electrical floor box includes a housing having a plurality of chambers therein. Each chamber accommodates a particular type or types of electrical connection therein. Chambers adapted to engage a cylinder type connector therein each have a fitting therein positioned in such a manner as to cause the connector to lie diagonally across corners of the chamber horizontally as well as vertically to produce a box having a significantly decreased height, such decreased height requiring significantly less concrete to be poured to create a flush mounting of the box within the floor.

Multiple function electrical outlet and distribution box or the like

In combination, a multiple function electrical outlet and electrical distribution device for attachment to a floor and electrical duplex receptacles and jacks comprising a plate-like base and a plate-like floor fitting. The plate-like base and the plate-like fitting are shaped in such a way that the plate-like fitting is pivotally movable into and out of nested superimposed engagement with the plate-like base. The plate-like base has an enlarged base opening for receipt of electrical circuit lines therethrough. The plate-like floor fitting has an elongated centrally located fitting opening vertically aligned with the base opening. The fitting opening is peripherally bounded by a U-shaped upright fitting wall dividing the plate-like floor fitting into a central compartment and a peripheral compartment located at the outside perimeter of the U-shaped upright fitting wall. Upright receptacle support posts are positioned at spaced intervals in the peripheral compartment. Chase nipples secure the plate-like base to a floor. Electrical duplex receptacles are attached to the receptacle support posts and are positioned in the peripheral compartment and are isolated from said central compartment by the U-shaped upright fitting wall. A jack holder plate is mounted on the U-shaped upright fitting wall. Jacks are secured in the jack openings in the jack holder plate. A dish-shaped cover provides access to the receptacles and jacks.

Multiple function electrical outlet and electrical distribution system

An improved floor duct apparatus or assembly useful for the housing and routing of power and/or communication lines and cables routed through duct access openings and connectible floor fittings, said apparatus including multiple interior segregated compartments and/or channels defined by cooperating floor, ceiling and side wall sections, the improvement thereof comprising the elevation or depression of selected portions of the ceiling section to define certain ceiling portions inclined with respect to the horizontal plane wherein the access openings therethrough include both vertical and horizontal dimensions providing increased accessibility into the underlying interior channels. Cooperating floor fitting or outlet apparatus includes improved assembly of parts and compartmentalized configuration.
