Sheeting () is woven with warp ends (E) and fill picks (P), at least one of which (Eand/or P) is a spun yarn (C) and at least one of which (Eand/or P, with x&#x2260;y) is a synthetic filament yarn (F), or a first plurality of which (ESand/or PS) are each spun yarns (C) and a second plurality of which (ESand/or PS) are each synthetic filament yarns (F).

A woven terry fabric () includes a non-moisture-transporting synthetic filament yarn (F) in at least one of the fill or the warp. The pile loops (T) comprise natural fibers. The fill yarn, warp yarn, and pile loop yarn are woven together in a three-pick terry-weave pattern.

A woven fabric sheeting combines the comfort features of cotton fabrics with the durability advantages of polyester fabrics. The sheeting construction is characterized by the use of cotton warp yarns and continuous filament, texturized, polyester filling yarns.

Three reuasable surgical/medical fabrics provide improved barrier properties, as reflected by their Suter ratings, and also posses a 'hand' similar to a 'cotton hand'. The Suter ratings are degraded in the order of 10%-20% after 100 sterile reprocessing cycles. The fabrics are reliable free of 'voids', permitting their use as a single layer barrier panel. The fabrics are woven, respectively, with false twist 100/100 warp yarns and air texturized core and effect 2/60/100 fill yarns; flat trilobal 100/50 warp yarns and air texturized core and effect 2/60/100 fill yarns; and false twist 2/50/34 warp yarns and false twist 150/200 fill yarns. The fabrics are characterized by a minimum porosity of at least 10.times.10.sup.6 pores/square centimeter and maximum average. and mean pore sizes. The fabrics have a thickness of at least 0.005 inch, a weight of at least 3.5 ounces per square yard and a filament density of at least 2.0.times.10.sup.6 filaments per square inch. Filament density is obtained by increasing the number of picks in the greige construction to at least about 160 in the finished fabric. In two of the fabrics, the bulk of the greige construction is increased by 'mechanically' working the fabric in a 'jet dyeing machine'.

A terry-type cloth product and method of making same are provided wherein such product comprises ground fill and ground warp interlaced to define ground of the product, with the ground having a top surface and a bottom surface and pile warp extending from the ground and with the pile warp comprising a plurality of sets of pile yarns with each set of pile yarns having a plurality of pile yarns wherein the pile yarns of each set extend in a plurality of adjacent loops above the top surface and then pass through the ground and extend in a plurality of adjacent loops beneath the bottom surface and wherein the pile yarns of each set again pass through the ground and repeat in adjacent loops above the top surface and beneath the bottom surface across a dimension of the product, with each immediately adjacent pair of sets of yarns being staggered so as to provide a checkered pattern defined by sets of pile yarns and ground on each of the top and bottom surfaces.

Terry-type cloth product and method of making same

A woven sheeting material and method of making same are provided wherein such sheeting material has warps and wefts and each of the warps is made of a blend of a natural material and a synthetic material and each of the wefts is made substantially entirely of the natural material.
