An interconnect module for communicating electrical signals and optical signals is described. In particular, an integrated circuit in the interconnect module receives and transmits the electrical signals with other components in a system that includes the interconnect module via an electrical connector. In addition, the integrated circuit receives and transmits electrical signals to a hybrid silicon-photonic bridge chip that performs electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical conversion. In turn, this bridge chip receives and transmits optical signals via an optical fiber. The interconnect module can be remateably connected to a backplane in the system, and can be arranged in a stacked configuration with other instances of the interconnect module. In these ways, the interconnect module facilitates dense, modular or scalable, and compact electrical and optical communication in the system.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for supplying redundant power. The apparatus includes a first power supply adapted to provide a first portion of power. The apparatus further includes a second power supply adapted to provide a second portion of power and a distribution network, wherein the distribution network is adapted to direct the first portion of power and the second portion of power to a first split path adapted to transmit signals in a system.

Method and apparatus for supplying redundant power

A method, device, and system for automatic fail over of system controllers. A system controller includes a processor, a memory, and a plurality of I/O controllers. Each I/O controller is configurable with a plurality of I/O connections to another system controller. Each of the plurality of I/O controllers is further configurable with an I/O connection to each of one or more monitored devices. The method includes booting a plurality of system controllers configured as a primary system controller and at least one secondary system controller and booting one or more domains in the computer system from the primary system controller. The method also includes updating a system configuration on the primary system controller and updating the system configuration on the secondary system controller from the primary system controller.

Automatic system control failover

The present invention provides a method and a connector for coupling one or more boards together substantially parallelly. The connector comprises a first and a second supporting member and a first set of electrical connectors adapted to couple to a first board. The connector further comprises a second set of electrical connectors disposed between the first and second supporting member, wherein the second set of electrical connectors are oriented substantially perpendicular to the first set of electrical connectors and wherein the second set of electrical connectors are adapted to couple to a second board that is substantially parallel to the first board.

Connector for electrically coupling one or more devices in a processor-based system

A portable container is disclosed herein for the hypothermic transport of donor organs which includes an inner container holding a body organ within a surrounding preservation medium and an outer container suspending the inner container within a thermoregulatory fluid. The inner and outer sidewalls are transparent, permitting exterior stored organ visual inspection. An air inlet exhaust port is provided on the outer container for controlling the volume of fluid into which the organ-carrying inner container is held. The double container storage, storage medium and fluid, as well as proper sealing devices, provide for sterile isolation of the organ.
