A doser valve with a seat comprising at least one axially located slot from an outer surface of the seat and at least one radial/tangential extending passage in fluid communication with the at least one axially located slot and an exit passage out of the seat.

Adjustable doser valve

A system for purging a device for injecting fuel into an exhaust system of an engine comprising a device having an input and an output coupled to an exhaust system, at least one air valve and at least one fuel valve. The air valve has an input an input coupled to an air supply and an output coupled to the device through a check valve. The fuel valve has an input coupled to a fuel supply and an output coupled to the device through a check valve. When the air valve is open and the fuel valve is closed, air flows from the air supply to the device and is injected into the exhaust system of the engine. When the air valve is closed and the fuel valve is open, fuel flows from the fuel supply to the device and is injected into the exhaust system of the engine.

System for purging a device

A system for positioning a device such as a valve with a mechanical input using a fluid operated actuator, a mechanical position feedback member coupled to a feedback element of the fluid operated actuator and an activation fluid valve. The fluid operated actuator has an output coupled to the mechanical input of the valve, a feedback element for mechanically indicating a position of the valve, and inputs for actuating fluid, such that fluid at the inputs causes the fluid operated actuator to move in opposing directions. The activation fluid valve has outputs coupled to the inputs of the fluid operated actuator, a first opposing force input coupled to the mechanical position feedback member and a second opposing force input coupled to a control input force. The position of the activation fluid valve is controlled by a balance between the force from the mechanical feedback member and the control input force.

Proportional position feedback hydraulic servo system

A pressure regulating spool valve 10 having a body 25 within which a spool 20 is moved in a dither motion by a proportional solenoid 15 has a spool land 40 separating high and low pressure fluids and spanning and cooperating with a regulated port recess 51 in body 25 for variably opening high and low pressure windows 54 and 55. With opposite edges 52 and 53 of recess 51 spaced apart by a distance X, the opposite edges 42 and 43 of spool land 40 spaced apart by a distance Y, and the dither motion imposed on spool 20 by solenoid 15 having an axial excursion A, the relationship X.ltoreq.Y.ltoreq.(X+A) applies. This makes the alternating overlap of spool land 40 with recess edges 52 and 53 equal to or less than the dither excursion so that high and low pressure windows 54 and 55 of the regulated port 50 are opened for a predetermined portion of each half cycle of the dither motion.

Spool drive for pressure regulating, proportional solenoid valve

A refrigerant fluid charging device that comprises an expansion valve, a charging tube for connecting the outlet of the expansion valve to the system to be charged, a thermally conductive tube enveloping the charging tube, and a thermal sensing tube connected to the expansion valve, the sensing tube being in temperature sensing contact with the conductive tube at spaced locations and at one of such locations being adapted to be brought into temperature sensing contact with the suction line of the system to be charged. The method includes the steps of providing a charging device in accordance with the foregoing, connecting the inlet of the expansion valve with a source of refrigerant fluid, connecting the charging tube to the suction line of the system to be charged, bringing the thermal sensing tube at one location thereof into temperature sensing contact with the system suction line, and initiating flow of refrigerant fluid from the source of supply through the expansion valve and charging line to the system suction line, and permitting flow of fluid into the system until the expansion valve is automatically closed under the influence of the sensing tube.
