A Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) method for recovering hydrocarbons from a reservoir can include generating steam and COfrom feedwater, fuel and oxygen; transferring a steam-COmixture comprising at least a portion of the steam and at least a portion of the CO, to a proximate SAGD injection well; injecting the steam-COmixture into the SAGD injection well; obtaining produced fluids from a SAGD production well underlying the SAGD injection well; transferring the produced fluids for separation proximate to the SAGD production well; separating the produced fluids into a produced gas and a produced emulsion; transferring the produced emulsion for separation proximate to the SAGD production well; separating the produced emulsion to obtain a produced hydrocarbon-containing component and produced water; supplying at least a portion of the produced water as at least part of the feedwater; and supplying the produced hydrocarbon-containing component to a central processing facility.

Remote steam generation and water-hydrocarbon separation in steam-assisted gravity drainage operations

Methods are described for the production of a hydrocarbon product and selective rejection of low quality hydrocarbons from a bitumen-containing material, where product quality, production yield, processing input requirements, and environmental benefits are assessed for selecting a candidate method for deployment. The methods facilitate selection and deployment of sustainable hydrocarbon production operations rather than focusing on maximizing volumetric yield of hydrocarbons.

This invention consists of a method to enable methane recovery from hydrate reservoirs. The invention, in particular, relates to a Saltwater Hydrate Extraction Process (SHEP) in which high salinity water is injected into a hydrate reservoir into a lower horizontal well to promote and control gas production by hydrate decomposition to an upper deviated production well.

Method for recovery of natural gas from a group of subterranean zones

A process for enhanced oil and gas recovery. An enriched flue gas is synthesized from utility plant flue gas. The enriched flue gas is customizable for specific requirements; however, the gas is formed to have a high concentration of carbon dioxide. This is used as an injectant for enhancing the liberation of gas and/or oil from subterranean formations. The injection elevates recovery while sequestering carbon dioxide from the power plant source.

Carbon dioxide enriched flue gas injection for hydrocarbon recovery

A variety of methods for thermal recovery of natural gas and bitumen from a formation containing the latter. In general, the methods incorporate a series of existing, but previously uncombined technologies. A modified flue gas from the steam generators conventionally used in a SAGD recovery operation is injected into the formation to enhance recovery with the produced fluids, natural gas, bitumen, inter alia are further processed. The injection of the flue gas conveniently is disposed of and further acts to repressurize the formation which otherwise becomes depressurized when depleted of natural gas. Accordingly, environmental and economic advantages are realized with the methodology.
