An apparatus for directing fluid into and out of a fluidic device includes two or more fluid prime channels connected to a fluid inlet of the fluidic device, a flow control valve for each fluid prime channel to control flow between the fluid prime channel and the fluid inlet, one or more outlet channels connected to a fluid outlet of the fluidic device, and a flow control valve for each outlet channel to control flow between the fluid outlet and the associated outlet channel. An apparatus for delivering fluids to a fluid inlet includes a plate that is rotatable about an axis of rotation and a plurality of fluid compartments disposed on the plate, each compartment having a fluid exit port disposed at a common radial distance from the axis of rotation and positioned to align with the fluid inlet as the plate rotates about the axis of rotation.

Fluid caching

A method is provided comprising loading shells into shell retention chambers of a shell management module, the shells including corresponding reservoirs configured to hold individual quantities of liquid, the shell retention chambers arranged in a predetermined pattern on a platform of the shell management module. The method further comprises orienting discharge ends of the shells along an actuation direction within the shell retention chambers, and covering the discharge ends with closure lids to seal bottoms of the corresponding reservoirs.

Liquid storage and delivery mechanisms and methods

A liquid storage and delivery mechanism and method of use are provided. The mechanism comprises shells that include corresponding reservoirs to hold individual quantities of liquid. The shells include filling ends and discharge ends. The filling ends include fill ports that open to the reservoirs in order to receive the corresponding quantity of liquid. The discharge ends are covered with closure lids to seal bottoms of the corresponding reservoirs. A shell management module is provided comprising a cover and a platform. The platform includes shell retention chambers to receive corresponding shells. The shell retention chambers are arranged in a predetermined pattern on the platform. The shell retention chambers are to orient shells with the fill ports exposed from the platform. The cover is mounted onto the platform to close the fill ports. The shells are to move individually, along the shell retention chambers, between non-actuated and actuated positions.

Techniques for creasing a cover of a case are described herein. In an example, a creasing tool includes a first plate portion and a second plate portion substantially parallel to the first plate portion such that the first plate portion and the second plate portion define a slot between the first plate portion and the second plate portion for creasing a cover of a case.

Sample preparation cartridge

A case assembly of a media binder includes a front surface board and a back surface board. Each surface board includes an inwardly facing surface and an outwardly facing surface and a cover sheet, and each cover sheet is wrapped around the outwardly facing surface of one of the surface boards. A marginal edge is attached to the inwardly facing surface of the surface board, and another marginal edge is unattached to the inwardly facing surface of the surface board. An end of the unattached marginal edge includes an extra edge extended from the unattached marginal edge, and the extra edge is folded against the unattached marginal edge. The unattached marginal edge is attached to the inwardly facing surface of an adjacent surface board to form a corner wrap around a corner of the adjacent surface board.

The present invention provides an ink filter for an inkjet print cartridge, the print cartridge having nozzles for dispensing ink from an ink supply. The filter is formed of a polymeric material and is configured to prevent particles in the ink supply from passing to the print nozzles. The polymeric filter material is overmolded in a carrier which is configured to be coupled between the ink supply and the print nozzles.

A die carrier has a body with a primary surface adapted for attachment to a substrate die. The body at least partially defines a fluid chamber. A fill port and an evacuate port are each fluidically connected to the fluid chamber.

In one embodiment of the invention, a structure for preventing ink shorting of conductors connected to a printhead is provided. The structure includes a layer of insulating material shaped to at least partially encapsulate the conductors on the printhead. The insulating material includes a first surface and a second surface, with each of the surfaces having an adhesive coated thereon. The adhesive includes a polymer of ethylene and glycidyl methacrylate. The adhesive may also further include an acrylic ester. Alternatively, a first adhesive may be coated onto a first surface of the insulating material or coverlayer and a second adhesive (distinct in composition from the first adhesive) may be coated onto a second surface of the insulating material or coverlayer. In another embodiment of the invention, a print cartridge for an inkjet printer, including the structure for preventing ink shorting of conductors connected to the printhead is provided.

Coverlayer based on functional polymers

An ink jet printer with a reciprocating carriage having a circuit element with a number of electrical contacts and a fluid aperture. A print head is connected to the circuit element and has a body defining an ink inlet aperture adjacent the fluid aperture. The print head includes a number of conductive leads at least partially encapsulated by a portion of the print head body and connected to an electrical contact on the circuit element. The print head includes a die electrically connected to the leads, and connected to the body in communication with the ink inlet aperture. The leads may be formed from a leadframe, and the die may be at least partially encapsulated by the body.
