A storage rack has upright columns supporting vertically cambered beams having step box or channel shapes accommodating a generally horizontal deck for carrying pallets and product loads. The beams have upward cambers or convex curvatures that increase the load carrying capacity of the rack.

A protector for an upright column of a product storage rack has a V-shaped body with flat side walls joined to a convex curved vertical apex section. Pairs of studs cooperate with keyhole slots in the column to releasably mount the protector on the column. A releasable latch mounted on the protector engages the column to prevent removal of the protector from the column. The latch can be moved out of engagement from the column to permit the protector to be removed from the column.

Column protector

A blind spot viewing system capable of transferring an optical image between two locations by use of a coherent bundle of optical fibers with a lenslet array placed on each end of the bundle or formed integral thereto. The lenslet input assembly focuses light onto the core of each optical fiber in the coherent bundle. The output of the coherent bundle is also coupled to a lenslet array wherein each lens in the array is positioned along the output end of the coherent optical fiber bundle to collect the light emerging from the single optical fiber for focusing it towards a viewing position. Alternatively, the ends of the optical fibers can be modified to include a focusing lenslet. The viewing position might include a direct viewing or charge coupled device (CCD) for subsequent viewing on a video monitor.

Optical fiber viewing apparatus

An object and bulk material holding container having a floor attached to corner units for supporting upright walls. The corner units have enclosed pockets for receiving lower ends of the posts joined to the walls. Cooperating notch and tabs on the posts and corner units function in conjunction with the lower ends of the posts to hold the walls in generally upright positions. Foldable gates extend adjacent posts. The gates can be folded down onto the top of the floor along with the walls to place the container in a collapsed storable condition. In one form the floor has laterally movable extensions that are locked in selected positions to change the width of the floor.
