The present disclosure provides a device having a circuit. The circuit includes at least one boost converter receiving power from an energy source, a square wave driver in series with the boost converter, an inductor in series with the square wave driver for converting a square wave to a sinusoidal wave, and a piezoelectric transducer in series with the inductor, the piezoelectric transducer connectable to a load. The device further includes a phase-locked loop coupled to the circuit to determine a resonance frequency of the piezoelectric transducer when the piezoelectric transducer is connected to the load.

In the present invention, a dripless syringe is provided that includes a barrel having fluid therein, the barrel defining an open end and a nozzle opposite the open end, a plunger disposed at least partially within the open end and including a body and a push pin extending from one end of the body, a seal plate slidably mounted to the push pin and a bung disposed over the seal plate and the push pin and sealingly engaged between the seal plate and the barrel the seal plate enables the bung to remain in sealing engagement with the interior of the barrel while the plunger is moved within the barrel. Further, when pressure is removed to cease dispensing of the fluid, the pin allows the bung to retract and provide a negative pressure on the fluid to prevent drips of fluid from leaking out of the nozzle.

Ultrasonic device having memory capabilities

Methods and kits for assessing the presence of, and for detecting cancer, notably oral cancer, are disclosed. Such methods and kits use one or more lectins operably linked to a fluorophore, wherein the lectin binds differentially to cancerous and non-cancerous tissues, and wherein the fluorophore facilitates visualizing the differential binding. The lectins are applied to the oral mucosa of a subject, the fluorophore is exposed to light, and cancerous regions of the mucosa are visualized. In certain embodiments, the lectin specifically binds to one or more of a &#x3b2;-galactoside, an &#x3b1;- or &#x3b2;-N-acetylglucosamine, or a sialic acid moiety.

Compositions and methods for detecting oral neoplasm

An irrigant comprising either a hypochlorite compound or a chlorhexidine compound in combination with at least one surfactant and preferably two or more surfactants, including fluorosurfactants, ethoxylates, sulfonates, quaternary ammonium compounds, amine oxides, and combinations thereof, wherein each of the surfactants are capable of complexing with one another.

Dental irrigant

A bracket assembly for use in constructing a support frame. The bracket assembly has an inner support sleeve section and at least one support arm that is attached to the inner sleeve support section, wherein the support arm is attached to the inner support sleeve section without the use of additional fasteners. The invention also is directed towards kits and methods that include the bracket assembly.

Bracket assembly and systems

A generally non-acidic hemostatic agent, having a relatively neutral pH comprising a magnesium compound, such as a magnesium chloride, a magnesium sulfate and/or a magnesium acetate based compound. The resultant agent is generally less caustic than previous agents, when using a similar amount of active material.

Hemostatic agent

A syringe filling apparatus having a housing, a fluid reservoir, and a port for providing a fluid pathway between the syringe and the fluid reservoir. The apparatus has an alarm to indicate the fluid level within the reservoir. The apparatus has a heating system for heating the fluid within the reservoir to a predetermined temperature.

An autoclavable needle assembly and method of making the same is provided for endodontic surgical procedures. The needle assembly includes a supporting hub member containing an adhesive in which one end of the needle is embedded. The surgical needle is preferably fabricated from NiTi alloy and includes, at its distal end, a side vent in the form of a skived portion extending a predetermined distance inwardly from the tip from the distal end of the needle. One or more coatings may be applied to the needle. An angle-adjustment sleeve can be bent to hold a desired angle in the needle.

Surgical needle

An endodontic irrigating system that is capable of using ultrasonic energy for the treatment of a root canal and other dental areas. The system has at least one and preferably multiple solution reservoirs. The reservoirs are connected to one or more handpieces, which have at least one fluid outlet. The handpiece has at least one control mechanism disposed upon the handpiece for selective delivery of fluids to the dental. Ultrasonic energy is available within the system to be used in connection with another handpiece or handpieces concurrently with fluid flow to the handpiece, such as flow of irrigating fluids.

A portable medical apparatus for holding a plurality of surgical tools wherein at least one of said tools is electrically powered and includes a power supply cord and a power plug is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a housing having at least one electrical outlet for removably receiving the power plug is disposed within said inner shell. The housing includes an upstanding wall having at least one area for receiving and supporting a power supply cord. A removable enclosure lid is received by the housing. An upright member supports the housing and provides a passageway for a conductor in electrical communication with the electrical outlet. A base supports the upright member and includes a laterally extending leg having a channel for receiving the electrical conductor. The leg is apertured to receive a connector for attachment to the electrical conductor.

Equipment caddie system

A disposable extension member for joining a dental handtool to a disposable, hollow, dental tip. The dental handtool includes a chuck for releasably retaining the extension member. The extension member has at least one fluid-tight passageway extending through its body for fluid flow from the dental handpiece to the dental tip. The extension member includes an adaptive releasable locking member having an internally threaded, cuplike end portion dimensioned for releasable threading engagement with the dental tip. The chuck provides easy and efficient clamping means to secure the extension member within the handtool.
