A power management system for selectively providing power to one or more electrical loads using a standby generator includes a meter mounted transfer switch, a power management module, and a controller. The meter mounted transfer switch is configured to receive electrical power from a utility source. The power management module is configured to receive electrical power from each of the standby generator and the utility source. The controller is in communication with the standby generator and the power management module, and monitors a load on the standby generator and communicates to the power management module to selectively disconnect at least one of the one or more electrical loads based on the monitored load.

Power management system for a standby generator

A power management system includes a generator, a meter mounted transfer switch, and a power management module. The generator includes a controller positioned in the housing of the generator. The generator connects to the power management module to provide power to one or more electrical loads. The controller is configured to selectively disconnect at least one of the electrical loads by communicating, via a wireless gateway, to a transfer switch of the power management module to move between first and second positions for connecting the generator to the one or more electrical loads.

Meter socket adapter with integral automatic transfer switch

A transfer switch and load controller that can be plugged into an existing utility meter socket and electrically positioned between the meter socket and a distribution panel to allow switching between utility power and standby power. The plug-in transfer switch functions to transfer the power supplied to a home between the utility power source and the generator power source upon loss of power from the utility power source. The transfer switch components are contained in an enclosed housing of a meter socket adapter that is mounted directly to the meter socket of a meter housing. The meter socket adapter is prewired to a standby generator such that the standby generator can be connected to a home power system by plugging the meter socket adapter into the meter socket.

A muffler for exhaust gases of a combustion engine includes walls forming a chamber through which the exhaust gases pass, a first inlet in the walls of the chamber configured to receive the exhaust gases from an exhaust duct of the engine, a first outlet in the walls of the chamber through which the exhaust gases exit the chamber, and a conduit having a second inlet and a second outlet, wherein a substantial length of the conduit is positioned within the chamber.

Muffler and engine system

A water pump includes a base, a cam, a joint, and a piston. The base includes a PTO-attachment portion, a cam-attachment portion, a first contact surface, and a second contact surface. The cam includes a central opening, a first cam contact surface, and a second cam contact surface, wherein the cam-attachment portion of the base extends into the central opening. The joint pivotally couples the cam to the cam-attachment portion of the base. In a first operating position of the cam, the first contact surface engages the first cam contact surface so that the cam is positioned at a first angle relative to the axis of PTO rotation. In a second operating position of the cam, the second contact surface engages the second cam contact surface so that the cam is positioned at a second angle, greater than the first angle, relative to the axis of PTO rotation.

A muffler for a combustion engine includes walls forming a chamber, a first inlet, a first outlet, and a conduit. The first inlet is designed to receive exhaust gases from an exhaust duct of the engine. The exhaust gases pass through the chamber when moving from the first inlet to the first outlet. The exhaust gases then exit the muffler through the first outlet. The conduit extends between a second inlet and a second outlet. The second inlet is configured to receive fresh air entering the muffler. The fresh air then exits the conduit and is introduced into the exhaust gases through the second outlet.

A pressure washer system includes an engine block, a water conduit, a water pump, and a spray gun. The engine block is for a horizontally-shafted internal combustion engine, and has a chamber therein. The chamber is designed to contain oil for cooling and lubricating the internal combustion engine. The water conduit has a garden hose connector on an end thereof, and is fastened to the engine block. As such, heat transfers from the engine block to a flow of water passing through the water conduit during operation of the internal combustion engine. The water pump is coupled to the water conduit, where the flow of water is driven by the water pump. The spray gun is coupled to the water pump, where the flow of water exits the pressure washer system via the spray gun.

A catalytic muffler that treats the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine. The catalytic muffler includes a catalyst chamber, a catalyst disposed in the catalyst chamber, an upstream chamber disposed upstream of the catalyst, an exhaust inlet configured to receive exhaust gases, an exhaust outlet configured to discharge converted gases converted by the catalyst to the atmosphere, and further configured to receive secondary air, and a passageway communicating between the exhaust outlet and the upstream chamber, and configured to provide the secondary air received by the exhaust outlet to the upstream chamber.

A fluid level switch for a machine having a fluid reservoir adapted to contain a fluid at an acceptable level. The fluid level switch includes a mounting plate, a float housing, and a float assembly positioned within the float housing. The mounting plate retains first and second contacts. The float housing is configured to receive fluid from the fluid reservoir and the float assembly is movable in response to the level of fluid in the float housing. The float assembly includes a contact member electrically connecting the first and second contacts when the level of the fluid is below the acceptable level. The contact member is coupled to the float for movement with the float and for movement relative to the float.

Fluid level switch

A tube for directing fluid along a path that includes a bend. The tube comprising a conduit having a first aperture, a second aperture, and a bend portion adjacent the second aperture. An outer bend surface is integrally formed as part of the conduit to at least partially define the second aperture. An insert includes at least a portion of an inner bend surface and is disposed at least partially within the second aperture such that the outer bend surface and the inner bend surface cooperate to at least partially define the bend.

A valve operating system for an engine that includes a piston that reciprocates along a piston axis. The valve operating system includes a valve member that is movable along a valve axis between a first position and a second position and a crankshaft that is rotatable about a crank axis. A cam member includes a substantially non-planar non-cylindrical surface and a cam profile superimposed thereon. A drive linkage interconnects the cam member and the crankshaft such that the cam member rotates in response to rotation of the crankshaft. A rocker arm is engaged with the valve member and the cam profile to move the valve member in response to rotation of the cam member.

Valve-operating mechanism

A device includes an internal combustion engine, an engine control device coupled to the internal combustion engine and manually operable to stop operation of the engine, a fuel tank coupled to the engine for providing fuel to the engine, and a fuel vent closure device communicating with the fuel tank. The fuel vent closure device is automatically operable in response pressure changes in the engine to substantially seal the fuel tank when the engine is stopped, thereby substantially preventing emissions from the fuel tank. The device also preferably includes a fuel shutoff device automatically operable in response to pressure changes in the engine to substantially block the supply of fuel to the engine when the engine is stopped.
